Four Zohiko lacquer plates. Colorful leaf decoration sparsely applied on black ground with almost iridescent effect with gold and silver maki-e and red details. Zohiko marks in gold lacquer on the flat bottoms without foot rims. 20th century. Very good condition with only light rubbing on the bottoms (likely easily polished out by a professional.) 20th century. Diameters 7 3/4 inches (19.685 cm). DESCRIPTION: A vintage terra cotta pitcher (or handled pot), skillfully hand-painted in green and white glazes with deer painted on each side using fluid brush strokes. Originating from the Tlaquepaque-Tonala area of Mexico, this delightful redware pitcher is in excellent condition; no chips or cracks. DIMENSIONS: Body is 6.25” x 5.5”; 5” high.

Fleece-lined and hand-made using the old fashioned traditional Chinese methods, only the mid 20th century fabric of the lining and ears identify these shoes as a later made at a later time period. They were probably made by a dotting grandmother and were well worn by a young child.

A Bizen type kogo in form of a primitively rendered reclining sage or monk. Signed on bottom. 20th century. Good condition. Length: 5 inches (12.7 cm)

Nice Chinese vase with a gourd like body and crackle finish . Painted with a nature scene and a bird, the base is marked . H 9" by 5"

Vintage pair of cut jadeite pieces to be used as Chinese scholar’s scroll weights. Stone of olive green color with natural lines and differently colored veins, sides showing the skin of the boulder from which the pieces were cut. Nicely polished, very pleasing objects for a scholar’s desk. Height (left one of the first photo) 2 11/16 inches, weight of the left one 265 grams (9.4 ounces), the right one 210 grams (7.4 ounces).

Set of three Chinese Qingbai celadon glaze bowls with incised design on the inside. The outside glazed the same, but left blank. The foot rims and bases as well as the top rims left unglazed.

Size: All bowls are approximately 6" diameter by 2-3/8" high

Condition: Two of the bowls are in good condition with the exception of some minor kiln imperfections due to firing. The third bowl has a rim crack and also a chip. Refer to pictures.

This Native American watch cuff has 2 turquoise sea-foam nuggets in a blue-green color with lots of pitting and an irregular surface. It also has a piece of red coral. Both the turquoise and the coral are set in toothed bezels. It has the letters "BS" incised in the back of the bracelet.

Fine lot of two silver items, incl. a broad bracelet and a large silver Concho plaque with central torquise, Indian, Navaho. c. mid. 20th. century.

Attractive pieces, the Concho with sterling silver stamps, both are in fine 925 sterling silver.

Few light stains, one torn seam at sleeve (ca. 2 in.), one small moth hole in seam of other sleeve, otherwise good condition.

Fire lighting implement consisting of a piece of iron, pieces of fabric and a fragment of flint stone, the whole set being contained in a rattan box. This implement belonged formerly to a member of a tribe located in Palawan Island, South West of the Philipino Archipelago. Such tribe, like a few others in this island, has in some aspects remained in the Stone Age. It was put under the protection of the Philipino Government some 40 years ago. The closed box length is 7 5/8" (19,2 cm)...

Japanese vase of convex shape, Totai decoration of a bird and a butterfly among leaves and berry bushes. The motif created by thin metal threads is filled in with colored lacquer and polished. The brown lacquer background is carved as to resemble tree bark (totai). This complicated technique for decoration on porcelain was in use in Japan in the 1920’s and 30’s.The base with old paper label, indistinct letters in blue and the word “Lacquer”. Height "7½/ 19,2 cm...

String instrument ("saranghi") made of wood, decorated on its top with a human figure. Fine dark brown glossy patina. Himalayan region, early 20th century. Height: 42 cm. The sarangi is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Very good condition. NOTE: collected in Nepal in 1974.
