Intricate detail and vivid colors characterize this wonderful miniature sculpture carved by Akihiro Zusuki, a netsuke artist currently living in Hokkaido, Japan...

Whilst Bokhara rugs are often perceived as utilitarian in nature and not seen as art objects by their makers, this particular rug is of such good quality that the maker decided to sign it...

The chocolate pot is 8.6 inches (22 cm) tall by 7.1 inches (18 cm) wide. The cups are 2.8 inches (7.5 cm) tall by 3.6 inches (9 cm) in diameter. The saucers are 5 inches (12.5 cm) in diameter.

The entire set has rubbing of gold, some have slight discoloration and yellowing, surface wears, and rubbing of the markings...

Originally, a ceramic container would be placed inside to accommodate the flower arrangement. This basket is still very usable having sturdy construction with no apparent breaks...

The founder of the Choraku lineage studied under Keinyu (11th Raku) and Konyu (12th Raku) of the Raku Kichizaemon family, and in 1904 with the support of Konyu, founded his own kiln in Kyoto.
