Japanese mid 20th century bronze vase by metal artist NEYA CHUROKU (1897 - 1987). The tall vase is done with a dragonfly and autumn grass design. The vase measures 17 7/8" tall and 6" in diameter.

Large Chinese baluster vase done in tones of under-glaze blue. The scene on this vase goes all round it and is done between multiple layers of borders. The main scene is all plants and trees.

The inside is thinly glazed. The base rim is unglazed, as well as the base. From the pictures it looks rough, but it is quite smooth.

The condition of this vase is very good. There are some places on the top rim where the glaze has skipped over...

A terrific pair of Art Deco sterling silver tension-hinged sugar tongs or “nips” by W. & S. Sorensen. The twisted upper handles are decorated with gilt crown-shaped finials and the tong ends repeat the twisted pattern of the upper handles. The tongs could be used for sugar cubes, candies, or even olives. Hallmarked by Sorensen. The tongs are very well made and are quite heavy.

Origin: Denmark, ca. 1930. Condition: excellent, all original, traces of original gilding intact...

A child's shirt front from Ghazni province, circa early to mid 1960s, probably from Jaghori or Katawaz. Densely embroidered in extremely fine brick and satin stitch in silk thread on purple silk, the lozenge patterns are framed by Bokhara couching, where the metallic threads are laid in parallel and then fastened with tiny stitches, forming a relief pattern. Blue beads surround the edges, to protect against the evil eye...

This is a really nice French Ivory Laurel 9 inch Dinner Plate made by McKee Glass in the 1930s. This plate is in very good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. There are the usual mold marks in the bottom of the glass which is common with this type of vintage glass. The surface of the plate is shiny. It is signed McK on the bottom. Embroidered in silk thread on a fine cotton linen ground, this little purse is from Badakhshan province in northeastern Afghanistan and measures 11.3 x 13.5 cm. Badakhshan province is mostly inhabited by Tajiks and is the home of the world's most important lapis mines. The embroidery technique is a combination of brick stitch and long and short stitch, depicting chevrons and floral motifs...
