KINTA THE GHOST

Vintage Japanese mechanical doll called 'Obake-no-Kinta (Kinta the Ghost)' as a traditional folk toy with long history from the Edo period originated in Kumamoto region, made by the previous predecessor in Showa 30 (1955). H 23 x W 5.5 x D 10 cm (9.05 x 2.16 x 3.93in). When the string is pulled, he rolls his eyeballs and sticks out his tongue...

Beautiful Japanese small silver lidded box with oval shape, decorated with 2 kiri mon and characters on lid, back has maker's stamp, in original kiri box also with maker's name, c. 1930's. Size: 2 3/4" long x 1 1/2" wide x 1/4" think.

Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue and White charger, possibly export wear no damage other that foot roughness unmarked size diameter 9" H 13/4"

Fostoria Colonial Dame Forest Green Footed Ice Teas, 12 oz. Sold as a pair, 6" tall. Produced from 1948-86, both in excellent condition.

Tang Dynasty painted Terracotta figure of a Court Lady , beautiful piece well molded and traces of its original paint. There is no apparent damage but one tip of hair . Collected in the 1920s by a Canadian French Railroad construction engineer. There is an old label in Chinese on the back . There is a piece of tissue in the base so the dirt doesn't come out. Size h 11.5" w almost 2.5" at the hair. Note the neck has NOT been broken!

This beautiful tankard and cup set is marked, JPL, Limoges for Jean Pouyat. It dates from the late 19th century up until 1932. The gilded grapes are beautifully executed against a cobalt blue ground. Perfect condition.

Fenton Blue Overlay 9" Perfume Bottle is in mint condition. Made in the 1940's -- no logo (too early!).

Jeannette Swirl Ultramarine creamer and sugar are in excellent condition. Made between 1937-38.

A wood bowl used by a lacquer ware maker. It has layers of red and black urushi. It is used by a craftsperson of Aizu-nuri, from Aizu in Fukushima in Tohoku district. The first half of the 20th century. Diameter:15.8cm, H:6.5cm

Chinese jadeite carved pendant of a melon with its vines and leaves draping down its side, and a cute mouse crawling up the side. It hangs from a red cord necklace and has a small jade bead on the thread atop of the pendant. Size: (jade only) 1.75" height, 1" width

Set of 6 large 800 silver teaspoons from Roumania, c.1937. Sleek clean modernist design, they each measure 5 9/16" long and there is a slight gold wash inside the bowl. Each squared off bowl measures 1 3/4" long by 1 3/16" wide. They are each signed "R(in circle for Roumania)CROWN A(in soft triangle for .800 silver, 1937)" on the back with two other hallmarks in the bowl, that are hard to decipher. Very good condition but could use polishing...

Japanese Woodblock Print by "Tsuchiya Koitsu" "Hachiman Shrine" with two(2) women in in Kimono in front of the Shrine, dated 1938, 11 1/4" x 17" high-paper size, 10 1/2" x 15 1/2"-image size, some stains and some paste mark remain on the corners in the back, this print was out of mat and frame, and later edition.

Contemplative calligraphy: Music, Writing, and Books by Lee Nam Ho aka Geum Choo (1908-2001). Lee Nam Ho is renowned as a painter. This is a rare and fine example of his calligraphy. 51 x 13.5 inches, 129 x 34 cm.

A hand carved wood totem pole on a round base, made for the tourist trade at mid-century, no signature, 7" high and 6 1/4" widest point on the wings, with original yellow sticker on the back from Indian Craft Shoppe, 905 Government Street, Victoria, British Columbia. There is a little chip off the tip of one wing, otherwise is in good condition.

It is 5.7 inches (14.5 cm) in length by 0.34 inch (0.86 cm) wide. It weighs 7.67 gram.
