A red earthen cylinder inlayed about the rim with dragonflies by JCS award winner Imai Masayuki enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The dragonflies (also called Katsumushi, or insect of victory) are inlayed into the red clay with white and buff clay, covered with resist, and a thin iron slip applied over the remainder of the vase. The slip color is so closely matched to the underlying brick-red clay one cannot see the difference...

A beautiful Murano Soffiato glass vase with gold flecks and applied blue threads. The vase is 4 1/2 inches (11,3 cm) wide and 4 inches (10 cm) tall. It is in fine condition. Pontil bottom. Lightweight glass. Probably designed by Archimede Seguso or Napoleone Martinuzzi.

This is a pale blue Ando Jubei box depicting a shrine among pine trees, the design flowing down the front side of the piece. Enameled in both standard silver wire and wireless technique and measuring 5.25" x 4", the box is brocade lined and is marked junjin on the inner rim.
Condition: Minor wear to the bottom, and hairlines to the sides of the top as illustrated in the final two photographs.

A nice set of four carvings in emerald of Birds and Owl Fetishes, Native American, probably Zuni, Navaho tribe and 20th. century (3).
The carvings are cut and polished in one emerald stone in transperant light blue-green colours, very attractive small animals.
Zuni fetishes are small carvings made from primarily stone but also shell, fossils, and other materials by the Zuni people...
Cambridge Glass Company made this Caprice basket from 1936-45. There are no chips or cracks in the glass. Thanks for looking.
A lidded bowl of flattened shape. Shiny glaze over flower fantasy motif in typical Gouda Art Noveau style, c 1920's. Diameter "6 ¾/ 17 cm, height "3 ½/ 9 cm. Painted marks 741 and Gouda, gate-mark, Holland and painter's mark "P", the figures also incised. Condition: chip to rim of lid as shown on photo, otherwise fine.

This is a large Japanese samurai doll, "Kato Kiyomasa” (a warrior from the 16th century warring period) mounted on a horse. The quality is excellent. The dimensions of the box (assembled with wooden pegs): 19 1/4" x 21" x 9 1/4" deep. The condition: There are a couple of very faint hairlines (almost non-visible) between the eyebrows. This Miao Baby carrier is from the Bai Ling region of China. As is typical of this region, the straps are embroidered. This attractive piece was probably only used for a few festivals before being stored away for the next generations use. In excellant condition, it measures 38" long.
