Chinese scholar rock of an over hanging ying stone, mounted on a carved Suzhou rosewood stand with five cabriole legs and an undulating stretcher. The base is decorated in high relief of lingzhi fungus and swirling clouds. Measuring 5 1/4" across & weighing 156 grams this 940 sterling silver dish was designed by Taxco, Mexico designer Hector Aguilar. The dish is centered with a 1951 coin with a HIDALGO profile. The reverse side of the coin features an eagle fighting a serpent. This candy dish is pictured on p. 67 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. HA, 940, TAXCO, & TALLER BORDA and eagle 9 hallmarks are found on the underside rim of the dish.

I believe this to be a Jeannette hand decorated and colors fired in reverse painted lamp. If I am wrong, please email me.

The shade is 13.75" in diameter. The scene on the lamp is repeated 3 times on the shade. It is 6 1/2" tall.

The 2 socket base is cast iron covered with a felt. There are no hallmarks anywhere that I can find on the shade, the base, the cap.

The lamp stands 19 1/2" tall to the top of the finial.

There are no chips, no cracks, and no repairs to this lamp...

A silk fukuro obi sash. In jacquard weave with 2 hues of gold-thread and red, green, yellow and brown silk. Clematis meandering upwards against a yellow-golden background, partially obscured by copper-golden stylized flower shapes.

The back of the obi is plain cream-colored silk, as is about 1.5 meters on the front, which would be invisible when wrapped around the body. The last 16.5 inches of the obi seamlessly fit onto the rest of the design.
