In the high valleys of Indus Kohistan the children still wear hats such as this one, made of tent stitch, fine cross stitch and metallic amulets to ward off the evil eye. Silk thread on cotton ground, accented with beading, sea shells, pompoms, and metal trinkets. Estimated age mid 20th century. Condition of this hat is excellent. No holes, no fraying, no stains. Diameter is 7 inches, circumference 18 inches.

Chogappo made of fragments of white choma (ramie) whose weft and warp are hand-plied. Natural color fragments are mixture of choma and silk. "Pojagi" is the general name for the wrapping cloth and "chogappo" is one kind of pojagi which is patchworked with asa (mainly choma, ramie) fragments.(reference source: "Korean Embroidery and Wrapping Cloths from the Choson Dynasty" published by Japan Art & Culture Association in 1995). 20th century Murano glass bell by Fratelli Toso is constructed of multi-colored murrine with crystal handle. The Bell has a satin finish and retains the rooster and KB labels. At 5.25"h x 2.75"w, the Bell is in excellent condition
Antique silver button collectors look at this set of four antique Far Eastern Chinese export foo dog lion or dragon motif repousse chased unmarked silver buttons. Although unmarked, they test at least 90% silver, yet may be sterling.

The silversmith cut the front and backs, hammered and chased the front figural details, then attached the front and backs together...

If you don't collect Jadeite, this one might get you started. It is provocative and unique among Jadeite wares, featuring a voluptuous nude female figure on each of the 3 sides of the vase. Good condition with original base punch hole intact. The main defect is 2 parallel small tight cracks about 2 millimeters. There is also some faint discoloration around this condition.
