Lovely old hooked rug, still strong colors, with Welcome sign amidst red, blue, black, and white flowers, green foliage, a tweed background with black borders, early 20th century. Measures 34 12" wide, 22 1/2" high. Flowers all done with nice variety of color each one with shading and variety of tones, some outlining for contrast. A watercolor mixed media (some pencil and perhaps gouache) painting of a weathered Native American or other classic male image of the Southwest, signed at lower left "J W Kolstad". The piece measures 10 1/2" by 10 1/2" inside the black mat and 18" by 17" as framed. Reminiscent of some works by Remington or Lon Megargee, this is a very satisfying southwestern piece. Condition is excellent. The date of execution would likely be 1960's or 1970's.

A 4 1/4 inch tall colorless hexagonal tumbler with applied jewels and enameling. The base of the tumbler is polished flat and bears a “Glasfabrik Karlsbad” logo and “Moser Austria.” There is slight wear to the gold on the edges of the tumbler.

Vintage Chinese soapstone small scholar’s rock carved to represent a Taihu stone with numerous perforations and crevices. Beautiful Liaoning green soapstone with excellent waxy surface, extraordinary carving, in superb condition. Wonderful object for a scholar’s desk. Base length 1 1/4 inches, total height 3 1/8 inches.
