Naruko-kei Kokeshi by Tsugawara Wahei, born Sept. 13, 1945. Wood, Height 7". Although this is a typical Naruko stle kokeshi, the words "Kaizen Damashii" (Group Spirit) have been written over the normal decorative patterns. Also written is "Mogami Denki Kabushiki Kaisha" (Mogami Electric Company, Inc.) This was probably commissioned and given out to company employees at a corporate solidarity event or campaign. Probably dates from the 1980's.

Very nice set of eight sterling silver cocktail picks with rooster finials brightly decorated in translucent basse-taille enamels. The engraved decoration underneath the enamel lends realistic feathery details to the roosters. The exposed areas of silver are gilt. The backs are marked "925S Norway Sterling."

Origin: Norway, ca 1950. Condition: excellent, no enamel damage. Size: 3-13/16" long. Weight: 29.5 grams.

Stylized sea form sculpture in ever so subtle hues of rose and ice blue glass attributed to Archimede Seguso. The form has a soft sculpted essence and is beautiful! In good condition with normal wear on the base considering its age, the shell form measures 7.75"w x 3.75"h x 6.5"d

Kokeshi, folk toy of NE Japan. Wood, height 9.5". Naruko-kei, Miyagi Prefecture. Made by Itou Shouichi (Matsuichi?), born on Feb. 13, Taisho 13 (1924). This kokeshi probably dates from the 1970's.

This is a highly collectible long handled sterling silver serving piece made by Kirk & Son in the decorative floral "Repousse" Pattern, circa 1925. Elegant Art Deco sterling silver and jeweled cigarette case made by Georg Jensen, Copenhagen, 1925-1932 comprising a rectangular shape, the cover set with a row of five sparkling diamonds and a cabochon sapphire, a cabachon sapphire clasp, gilt interior hallmarked with Jensen crown, 900, 3 1/2" x 2 1/4", 3.41 oz. Condition is excellent, minor surface scratches.

A wonderful heavy sterling silver double jigger by modernist silversmith Alphonse La Paglia. The two tapered vessels are joined by a series of silver spheres and rings that are reportedly intended to represent flower bulbs and roots. The overall appearance is severe and very elegant. La Paglia originally worked in the U.S. for Georg Jensen USA, then at International Silver beginning in 1952 until his death the following year. His designs were produced until 1957...

9.5 feet long hand-painted Japanese carp banner (Koi-nobori) for Boy's Day. Here on this banner, a mighty little boy named Kintaro, is hitching a ride on a carp. Kintaro may be a creation from a theater play (jyoruri and kabuki) of the Edo period – although he is said to be a childhood figure of the 10th century samurai, Sakata no Kinsuke - he is extremely strong and still a popular hero figure for Japanese boys...

A George Erickson Sterling Silver Claret or Ice Tea Spoon. Erickson was an Arts and Crafts silversmith who worked for Arthur Stone from 1915-1932 and then went out on his own. His grandson still operates the business in Gardner, MA, making handmade silver. Dimensions; 12.5" long; bowl 3" x 1.75". Weight 3.2 Troy ounces. Marked "Erickson Sterling Handwrought". Excellent condition and no monograms.

This is attributed to Wu Changshuo calligraphy style and signed as his work, can't confirm as his handwriting and calligraphy, it is old to me, please consult expert before ordering, we are no expert in this area but it looks good to decorate as it has the elegance. Quite badly damaged.

Enigmatic green and red florals capped by ascending butterflies alternate with bird images in the cathedral-like windows on the side of this large vessel by Kyoto artist Yamazaki Koyo enclosed in the original signed wooden box.
