A captivating bowl created by Kyoto potter Kawai Zuiho, most likely in the early 70’s. This bowl features a red undercoat which is visible in places through the greenish overglaze. An exceptionally early work in ink and watercolor by the familiar New Mexico artist PERCY TSISETE SANDY ("KAI SA"), 1918-1974. Measurements are 6 1/2" by 4 1/4" (11 3/4" by 9" simply framed). The subject is a traditional eagle dancer of the Hopi people in full costume. The work is signed at lower right "KA-SAH", ("Red Moon"), apparently an early signature; on the old original remaining backing is written in pencil "purchased on Mother & Daddy's honeymoon 7/41"...

Massive Korean rectangular form scholar’s inkstone with removable cover carved in high relief with a stylized dragon. The base has a central sloped rectangular inkwell bordered with two opposing dragons chasing a flaming pearl. The flat bottom is carved with low arches at the center of the four sides to form wide feet at the corners. 11 3/4" long x 8 1/4" wide x 3 7/8" high. Probably dates from the mid-20th century. From an old Tucson, Arizona collection.

Consolidated Glass Company produced the Catalonian line in 1927. It was made to look like glass found in Catalonia Spain at the archaeological sites, and had bubbles and raised rings blown into the glass. This is the #1114 4 1/2 inch finger or mayo bowl in Emerald. Excellent condition, price is per bowl. Tableware is very difficult to find in this pattern, so get them while you can.
