This is an accurate model of an outrigger canoe from the Ellice Islands, now the island nation of Tuvalva. The v-shaped hull is made of an upper and lower sections,sewn together with string of plant fiber and forming a notched prow which provides stability in ocean waves. There is fishing platform, complete with net, fishing fly and weight, a bailer, 2 paddles and 2 masts. Only the sails are missing.
Overall length of model canoe is 25"...

A beautiful, large art glass bowl, made by Kosta Boda in their 'Unica' series - it was done by Lindstrand. The bowl's coloration fades from purple-to-clear. It is 11 3/4 inches (30 cm) long and 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) high. It is in fine condition (some usage scratches on bottom). Polished pontil. It is signed with acid-etching, 'Lindstrand Kosta' and is numbered, 'L.H.1001'.
Elegant signed Keisen bronze vase with carp undulating and frolicing about. With original paulownia signed box. Characters on box read: "Daruma seiyu koi bori doki kabin" meaning daruma holy playing carp bronze flower vase. C. 1950.
