"Prize winning piece which is made of four different metals and two stones" describes this Los Castillo pin in MEXICAN JEWELRY by Davis & Pack, p.188. It also appears on p.187 in WILLIAM SPRATLING and the MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE as "Los Castillo, prize-winning cubist parrot broach". This famous pin was made in Mexico, c.1947. Sterling BURRO key ring by VICTORIA DE TAXCO, Mexico, c.1955. Signed "VICTORIA DE TAXCO MEXICO STERLING 267 (bellmark there but number is faded from use)". Measures almost 3" long. Lovely silver and copper pin by Enrique Ledesma, Mexico, c.1947. Unusual design with hand stamped hearts and butterflies with copper overlay. Made of heavy gauge silver, it measures 2 3/4" long by 1 3/4" wide. Signed "925 LEDESMA PLATERIA CORTES HECHO EN MEXICO bellmark 3" and is in excellent condition. Unusual 970 silver money clip in the shape of an arrowhead with cave art hunters design by Antonio Pineda, Mexico, c.1950's. Of good size and weight, it measures 2 1/4" long by 1 3/4" wide. Marked "ANTONIO TAXCO(in crown)970 MOTA TASCO bellmark 3". Money clip was made by Antonio and sold in another shop, a frequent practice by Antonio. Torque necklace of sterling and onyx by Sigi Pineda, Mexico, c.1955. Marked "SIGI TASCO HECHO EN MEXICO STERLING (eagle mark) 36 (number is hard to see as it's deeply imbedded, so possibly) 310". Sterling and onyx Mayan face pin by Fred Davis, Mexico, c.1947. Davis managed Sanborn's for 20 years during this period. See pg. 23 of The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Since this is a classic Fred Davis design, this is his work. It is signed "22(Sanborn's bellmark number) MEXICO STERLING" and is in excellent condition. It measures 1 9/16" wide by 1 1/8" high. RARE OFFERING:Presented for sale is a historic place card holder for James Hagerty at a meeting between President Eisenhower and Lopez Mateos in the Hotel El Mirador on Feb.19,1959, hand made by Los Castillo, Mexico,1959. Hagerty was the Press Secretary for Pres. Eisenhower. The placard reads:"CENA PRESIDENTES LOPEZ MATEOS-EISENHOWER EN EL HOTEL EL MIRADOR ACAPULCO,GRO. 2-19-59 SR.JAMES C.HAGERTY". Signed, "LOS CASTILLO TAXCO" on the bottom, the piece is in excellent condition...

Four amethyst bars set in 9970 silver ring by Antonio Pineda. Marked "ANTONIO TAXCO(in crown) 970 STERLING MEXICO eagle mark". Size 7 1/4 - 7 1/2 and in excellent condition. Lushly designed floral sterling and amethyst pin sold by Sanborn's and possibly made by Fred Davis who managed and designed for the store from 1947 through the early 50's, Mexico, c.1950. Pin is signed "bellmark 22", which was Sanborn's number. It measures 2 1/8" long by 1" wide. Excellent condition except that pin was probably changed with lead solder.
