A rectangular silver box rich in high relief of dancers in costume. The detailing of the human forms and the patterning on their costumes is finely done. The background of the dancers is done in open-work silver of a pattern of swirling leaves and tendrils. At the bottom of the box is a large hand-hammered mythical Asian chimera (Makara)...

Lacquered necklace holder, most likely for court officials. Gilded and painted with dragons and cloud formations. Age: Ming (1368-1644)Condition: Good. Some chipping around the edges.Size:17.7cm X 7.5cm.

A very rare ancient eye bead from China from the Warring States period. It has a hole for stringing and can be worn. Size: Diameter. 2.5cm. Condition: Excellent for its age. One eye is slightly chipped. See last photo.

A very unusual round Ming huanghuali box with a lid. The lid's center has a burl wood center of huanghuali. It is very rare to see burl wood huanghuali in huanghuali pieces. This is the only one I have ever seen. Size: Diameter: 15.5cm. H: 9 cm. Condition: One old small repair (see photo), a natural age crack on one side (see photo) and a small chip at the bottom rim.

A cricket cage made of a long bodied gourd with ivory mounts to accommodate the ivory and tortoise shell lid. The surface of the gourd has a leathery look from age. The tortoise shell piece has intricate pierced carvings of the "Eight Taoist Symbols" amidst curling tendril patterns. Period: Ching (19th Century)

This is an exceptional very rare poster, not only showing three beautiful girls with elongated bodies, but it also shows the the furniture of the Qing period. Size: 76cm X 50.8cm. Condition: Very good.

A unique piece of zitan wood used as a sample for the scholar's woodworker. This piece is unusual as it shows a very light color of the zitan wood which is probably close to the bark area. There are two holes drilled in the piece for attaching a string for hanging. This piece weighs 550 grams. This is a great item for the zitan collector. Size: L.17.3cm. W.10.3cm. H.2.4cm. A white translucent jade cicada. A simple carving on one side and plain on the other side. The cicada is the symbol of happiness and eternal youth. Age: Han Dynasty -206 BC - 220 AD. Size: L. 6.7cm. W. 3.3cm. Condition: No chips or repairs.

A white jade covered entirely by Han style dragons creating an abstract design of swirls and curls. The jade has a hole on the wider end of stone making it usable as a pendant or a pocket jade. Period: Early Ching (18th Century) Size: H = 2-1/4", W = 1-1/4" Condition: No repairs or chips.

A very rare and unusual root brush pot that is highly prized by the Qing Scholars. This is a very special type of root know in Chinese as "JinJinan" The pot has all the natural openings from the root. Age: Qing, early 18 century. Size: H. 29.3 cm. Diameter at the base. 19cm. Condition: No repairs to the root. An old repair on one leg of the base. One leg has been replaced. See photos.

A large Tibetan Temple prayer carpet with two dragons, each chasing it's elusive pearl. Size: L. 163 cm. W. 88cm. Condition. No repairs. Very good for it's age.

A Beautifully carved tube shaped jade. It is hard to date this piece and say that it is from the Hongshan period (3000BC). It is most likely from a later period as these item are extremely rare. It is not know what these were used for but it is thought to be for the hair ornament to hold the pony tail. Size: See Last photo

Two unusual well carved huanghuali stands. They are almost a pair, but one is slightly larger than the other. Age: Late Ming or early Qing. Size: #1. Diameter 10cm. H. 3.5cm. #2. Diameter 9.5cm. H. 3cm. Condition: No repairs.

A very rare Chinese jade of a stylized bird. The jade is translucent of a green and brown mottled coloration. Carved with a minimum of design giving an it a minimalistic, abstract look. It has large convex circles for eyes. The back has two interconnecting holes for passing a string through. The back has a naturally occurring hairline fissure of a dark reddish brown coloration. Has some calcification from long burial. Size: H = 1-3/8", W = 1-3/4"

An ancient necklace made from fossilized wood also know as Pumtek. The word Pumtek means "buried thunderbolt". This type of necklace is very rare. Size: 56 cm from end to end.

A creamy-beige colored crouching chimera. Open-mouthed and with head tilted upward, the details are nicely carved. There are some rusty-brown colored inclusions from long burial. Period: Song (960-1279D) Size: H = 1-1/2", Length = 2-1/2" Condition: Very good

This is an original old Chinese poster of two women (actually men disguised as women) advertising cigarettes. Very early poster women were not allowed to pose for these posters. Original posters are almost impossible to find. I had acquired these posters many years ago in Beijing and forgot I had the. Just discovered them recently. Age: 1920s. Size: 76cm x 51cm. Condition: Some fraying around the edges and minor rips from age.

Chinese red glass bead necklace. These types of beads were originally used by the palace officials. Size: 33cm X 2.

A very rare carved wooden Buddha dating back to the 15th century or before. Size: H. 26.5cm. Condition: Natural ageing. The right hand is missing and a portion of the base has worn away.

Nicely cast bronze warrior from the Khengis Khan area. The uniform seems more Mongolian than Chinese. The weapon he was holding is gone probably made from an organic material. Size: H. 20cm. Base W. 9.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Some casting holes at the base.

A beautiful nineteen century woven temple carpet with nice design. The center pattern features 3 large multi-colored abstract florals against a black background that is surrounded by a blue & white keyfret design frame. The center florals include stylized lingzhi fungus combined in the design. The outer edge features abstract cloud and water patterns. These designs symbolize longevity, fertility and good luck. Size: L.163cm. W. 85cm. (5.4ft X 2.19ft) Condition: no repairs.

A set of seven very rare Pyu silver coins. Dated 100 to 900 AD. Some coins have holes in them, probably used for jewerly. Sizes: Large coin 2.4cm Smallest 1.4cm. Condition Fine. Natural patina.

A nicely carved mythical beast or cute animal in the recumbent position. There is a hole through the mouth for hanging. As for the age, I will date it as a Song piece, but it could also be from the Southern & Northern Dynasties. It is hard to date jade as many Dynasties copied from past dynasties. Size: L. 5cm. A white jade of two frolicking animals "kissing" muzzle-to-muzzle. The smaller animal has a little curly tail while the larger one has a long tail going up against its back with a curl at the tip. The style in which their legs are carved gives this piece a feeling of playful activity. Can be worn as a pendant. A rare huanghuali clapper with three beautiful pieces of huanghuali. The two outer clappers are rounded at the tops while the center piece is flat on both sides.The sound of the wooden clappers sets the rhythm of the music as well as some of the actions of the performers. Age: early 19th century. Size:L.26.5cm. W.at the widest point-6cm. H.all three together 2.5cm. Condition: No repairs. Normal wear.

An opium scale made of two carved bamboo parts that pivot open at the rounded end and close together with a leather strap. Inside this violin-shaped instrument are the original items - metal scale tray, counterweight and a measuring rod made of a long single piece of ivory that is approximately 38 cm (14-3/4 inches). A beautiful quadratic prism shaped translucent brown jade with two ring carved on each end. The jade is strung with three old Chinese beads. Age; Song or earlier Size: 3.4 x 2.1cm. Condition: No chips.

Chinese grey/brown nephrite jade of dog with large head and long comma-shaped ears. The jade has color variations and inclusions natural to the stone. There is a hole for stringing over its two paws and under the neck area. Period: Late Ming (17th Century) Size: H = 1-1/4", Length = 2-3/4"

A pottery jar glazed with a green lead glaze. Half of it is still green while the other half has oxidized to a silvery iridescent color. The variance in color is due to how the piece was buried and the effect of moisture getting under the surface of the glaze and "lifting" it to give it the pearl-like sheen. We've nicknamed this the Yin-Yang jar because of its unusual natural patterning. What makes this unique is its beautiful silvery- gold iridescence...

A nicely carved jade pig done in the Han style. Pigs represent prosperity and jade pigs were were placed in the hands of the deceased. Many jade pigs were used for this purpose in later times and are sometimes mistaken for Han pieces. Size: L.10cm. H. 2.8cm. W. 2.3cm. Condition: No chips. Some calcification.

An unusual jade male dancer with his legs twirling around each other, one arm on his chest the other straight down on his side. Most of the color of the jade is gone except for some remnants of the original jade still remaining. I have strung him to be worn as a pendent. Age: Han Dynasty. Size:5.4cm. Condition: No repairs.

A brass four prong dorje from Tibet. The primary symbol and ritual implement used in Tantric Buddhism, also know as a vajra. It can be translated as "diamond" or "thunderbolt". Age: Pre 1920. Size: L. 12cm. W. 4.3cm. Condition: Perfect.
