This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Vienna, Austria by the Franz Dorfl decorating studio around 1900. The saucer has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches and the cup is 1 3/4 inches high. The ground color is burgundy. The cup has a hand painted scene of Venus in a chariot accompanied by a cherub and doves. The painting has fine detail, vivid coloring and is artist signed. The gilded accents are raised and beaded. The quality of this cup and saucer will delight you. Condition: There is one or two gold beads missing around the cartouche on the front of the cup.

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Vienna, Austria in 1804. Impressed numbers on the bottom of the saucer indicate this year. It has an underglaze cobalt blue bee hive marking on both pieces. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and is 1 3/4 inches high. The cup is 4 1/4 inches high, including the lid. The set is considered to be a “trembleuse” with the attached gallery holding the cup on the saucer. The borders on each piece have a molded basket weave pattern. The set is hand painted with hunting scenes and flowers in Meissen style. The lid features a flower finial. Gilded accents trim the rims, handles and reticulated gallery of the saucer. This is a rare example of European porcelain to be enjoyed and preserved. Condition: Excellent.

This porcelain charger was produced in France by Lazeyras, Rosenfeld & Lehman Limoges in the 1890s. It is titled on the back “Dictant Une Lettreâ€, Dictating a Letter, “after Harry Roseland". Harry Herman Roseland (c.1867-1950) was one of the most notable painters of the genre painting school around the turn of the 20th century. An American, Roseland was primarily known for paintings centered on poor African Americans. The charger measures 13 1/2 inches in diameter. The Limoges blank was painted and signed by the artist P. Bazanaud. The scene shows a well dressed young woman writing a letter for an elderly black woman. The figures are portrayed with fine detail to their attire and surroundings. The border is scrolled and heavily gilded. The porcelain is pierced on the back and wired for hanging. Condition: Excellent. For the purpose of accuracy, there is very minor wear to the gilded edge. When viewed straight on it is not visible.

This porcelain serving dish was produced in France by Klingenberg Limoges. The white blank was sold for decoration to a studio artist. It is signed and dated 1906. The dish measures 16 inches across the handles. it is 8 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain has scrolled, molded handles and scalloped edges. Colorful hand painted roses spill across the interior of the dish. There is gold trim on the handles and edges. This is an attractive piece with an impressive size for use and display. Condition: There is a trace of wear to some gilding on the edge that is hardly noticeable. The piece is in overall excellent condition.

This porcelain dresser tray was produced in France by Jean Pouyat Limoges around 1914. It has an underglaze mark and an overglaze mark indicating that the porcelain and decoration are from that factory. The tray measures 12 1/2 inches long and 10 1/2 inches wide. The border has an irregular shape so that the length and width are calculated to the best of our ability. The tray was created in the art nouveau style with flowing lines in decoration and shape. The flower decoration is a factory transfer. Rich gilding accents the border. There is a creaminess to the porcelain that really brings out the pastel colors and contrasts with the gilding. If you love art nouveau style you will appreciate this tray. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain serving dish was produced in France by Tressemann & Vogt Limoges between 1892 and 1907. The blank porcelain was sold white ware to the renowned painter Ester Miler for decoration in New York City. The artist’s signature is in the decoration. The dish measures 9 1/2 inches in diameter. It is 2 1/2 inches high with the second tier having a diameter of 4 3/4 inches. The ground color shades from light blue-green to light yellow. It is a perfect backdrop for the white and peach colored roses and foliage. The colors blend so pleasingly. Miler’s signature brush style is clearly evident in this piece. It is trimmed with heavy gilding giving the dish a rich touch. This is a lovely, versatile serving dish you will want to use often. It would also make a great gift for some special occasion. Condition: Excellent

This ceramic tile was produced in the United States in the 1880s or 1890s. It is unmarked but it may have been produced at the Trent Tile Company of Trenton, New Jersey. It measures 18 inches long and is 6 1/2 inches wide. The tile is decorated in high relief with a classic Greek maiden. It is light green in color with a high gloss glaze. The figural rendering is fine, exemplifying expert artistic ability. Tiles of this size are uncommon and the subject matter is quite desirable. It is ready to hang in an ornate gilded frame. Condition: Over all, this tile is in very good condition. There is all-over crazing of the glaze, common to this type of ceramic. There are a couple of areas with slight wear to the glaze, very minor but mentioned for accuracy. There is one glaze pop on the lower right edge that occurred in the kiln.

This porcelain plate was produced in England by Copeland between 1851 and 1885. It measures 8 3/4 inches in diameter. The plate is made of fine bone china. The celeste blue rim is reticulated. The center of the plate is hand painted with floral bouquets and colorful swags of flowers. The painting is delicate and detailed. There are gilded accents and trim around the rim. This plate will make a lovely display piece. Condition: There is light wear to the gilded trim around the rim. Facing it straight forward, you hardly notice it.

This porcelain basket was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. It is marked with an under glaze cobalt blue crown and shield. The basket measures 9 1/4 inches across the handles, 6 1/2 inches wide and is 2 3/4 inches deep. It features entwined handles and delicate reticulation. The interior of the basket is beautifully hand painted with colorful flowers. All of the reticulation is outlined in gold inside and out. It is a sweet and fragile reminder of by-gone eras.

This porcelain dish was produced in Bohemia by the Hermann Ohme Porcelain Manufacturer around 1885. It is 6 1/4 inches long, 5 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain has a swirled ribbing that makes the dish fragile and translucent. The inside of the dish is hand painted with Dresden type flowers in bright colors. There are little buds and twigs scattered around both sides of it. The inner rim has delicate hand gilding. This dainty heart shaped dish is a charming accessory for almost any room. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain trinket box was produced in Germany by an unknown company in the 1890s. It has an under glaze blue crossed swords mark imitating the mark of Meissen. From the workmanship it must have come from the Dresden area. The box measures 2 3/4 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. The box is hinged and has a gilded metal frame. The lid is hand painted with a scene of lovers in a garden. There is pink and gold trim around the top and bottom rims. The interior of the box is gilded with bright gold. This charming trinket box might win your heart. Condition: Excellent

The diameter of the saucer is 5 1/8 inches and it is 1 1/4 inches deep. The cup is 3 5/8 inches high and has a diameter of 3 inches. The cup is hand painted with a scene of a maiden spinning yarn. It may have allegorical significance since it is painted in the neoclassical style. The maiden is painted with fine detail and bright coloring. The handle, interior of the cup and foot are gilded in heavy gold. There are gilded bands on the saucer as well. This is a rare example of Nymphenburg neoclassical style porcelain. This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg around 1815. The saucer has the Nymphenburg shield impressed into the porcelain. The diameter of the saucer is 5 1/4 inches and is 1 1/4 inches deep. The cup measures 3 1/2 inches tall and has a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. The front of the cup is finely hand painted in neoclassical style. There is a maiden appearing to be offering a branch of flowers. The interior of the cup is gilded on the sides to the bottom. The foot and handle are also gilded. This is a rare example of early Nymphenburg of fine quality. Please see the matching cup and saucer listed as B. Condition: The foot ring on the cup has a minor, flat chip.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg around 1815. Both pieces have the impressed Nymphenburg shield in the porcelain. The cup measures 3 1/2 inches high and the saucer has a diameter of 5 1/8 inches. The front of the cup features a detailed hand painted view of a location in Germany. A castle can be seen in the background. The scene is unnamed. These topographical porcelains document the place in time as it was in 1815. Condition: The cup has a significant chip to the side rim. There is wear to the gold bands of both pieces. One must consider the rarity of these items since many were lost over the course of wars and time.

This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Manufactory KPM around 1835. The cup is 3 3/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 ½ inches. The saucer has a diameter of 6 inches. It is inscribed “Andenhen an den 8ten Funi 1835” on the front of the cup, translated as Commemoration of the 8th of June 1835. The bottom of the cup is inscribed “Zur Erinnerung von F.G. Weise aus Wulften” or “As a reminder of F.G. Weise from Wulften” The cup has three claw feet and an ornate handle. There is a hand painted scene on the front of the cup of a sumptuous estate with a man and woman in the foreground. The painting is precise in perspective. Historical events and architectural achievements were documented for posterity on cups and saucers such as this one. Condition: The gilding on the saucer has minor wear. There is very minor wear to the gold trim on the 3 feet of the cup.
