This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory known as KPM around 1835. The signature is in blue under the glaze. The cup is entitled “Das Konigl: Opernhaus u: Bluchers Stanbild.” Roughly translated it means “The Konigl Opera House at Blucher’s Statue”. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches and the cup measures 3 inches tall with a diameter of 3 5/8 inches. The front of the cup features a hand painted depiction of the location noted. It is painted with precision and skill. There are wide bands of gilding trimming each piece. Topographical cups and saucers help preserve the memory of monumental historical architecture. Condition: There is light wear to the interior gilding of the cup and to a thin band just below the painting. It is minor considering the age and rarity of the set.

This set of 12 porcelain dinner plates was produced in France by Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges around 1900. They were made exclusively for the fine retailer Richard Briggs & Co. of Boston. The plates measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter. The plates are decorated with elaborate raised gilding. Cartouches containing vividly hand painted sprays of flowers decorate the borders. Embossed bands of gold trim the outer rim and the interior of the plates. The bright colors of the flowers and the bright gilding are outstanding on the pure white porcelain. The foot ring on the backs of these plates is painted with gold. This quality workmanship and beauty of design exemplify an era of elegance you will enjoy. Condition: Excellent

The front of the cup has a hand painted portrait of a “bonnet girl” often pictured during the art nouveau era. Framing the portrait is a cartouche of ornate raised gilding. There is elaborate hand gilding around both pieces. A border of gold filigree trims the inside rim of the cup. The gold trimmed handle is shaped like a split twig. This cup and saucer is one of the finest examples KPM produced. Condition: Excellent

The effect is similar to a silk tapestry. The inner rim of the cup has a band of gold filigree. There is gold trim on the handle and rims. This is more than a cup and saucer. The form of the porcelain plate blank is known as “Marsaille.” It has a gently scrolled border and scrolled accents. It fits 5 shells and has a salt dip in the center. The plate has a factory hand colored transfer design. The realistic depiction of various types of seaweed, fish and shell fish is done in vibrant colors. Brushed on gilding and accents complete the design. This is a very desirable plate for the discerning collector. Condition: Excellent

This pair of porcelain oyster plates was produced in France by Bawo & Dotter Limoges, sometimes called Elite Limoges, around 1900. They measure 8 1/2 inches in diameter. They have space for 5 shells and have a central salt dip. They are factory decorated with a transfer design. A ring of delicate pink roses encircle the border. The gracefully scrolled rim is accented with brushed gold. They are perfect for use or display. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain platter was produced in France by Haviland & Co Limoges between 1888 and 1896. It measures 16 3/4 inches long, 10 1/2 inches wide, and 1 3/4 inches deep. The blank is known as “Marsielle and the decoration is known as Schleiger #266B. The blank has graceful curves and ruffles molded into the porcelain. The decoration is a factory painted over transfer. Trailing vines and roses spill across the porcelain. The rims have hand painted gold accents. This is a fine quality piece you can be proud to display and use. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain platter was produced in France by Haviland Limoges. A studio painter purchased it white ware for decoration around 1900. The platter measures 14 3/4 inches long, 10 1/2 inches wide and 1 3/4 inches deep. The platter has a scalloped border with molded beads around the edge. There are sweet roses encircling the border. The beaded rim is trimmed with gold. The effort and love that went into creating this platter gives it the charm of generations past. Condition: The gilding around the rim has very slight wear on some of the high spots. It is not evident unless you look closely for it.

This porcelain bowl was produced in France by Bawo & Dotter Limoges, often called Elite Limoges, around 1900. It has two marks indicating that it was factory decorated. The bowl measures 10 inches in diameter and is 3 3/4 inches high. It has a scalloped rim and foot. There are little flowers molded in high relief around the rim. The decoration is hand painted. Colorful roses in bright colors tumble down the side into the center. A ring of roses decorates the outside of the bowl. The rim is finished with sponged on gold trim. You will find the shape and decoration very appealing. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain dish was produced in England around 1825. There is a hand painted pattern number 1079 on the back with no other markings. It measures 9 1/2 inches across the handles, 8 1/2 inches wide and 1 inch deep. It has molded handles and is slightly concave in the middle. The ground color is a deep cobalt blue. The hand painting is quite elaborate with floral cartouches in the corners, a wonderful basket of flowers in the center, and elaborate gilded embellishments. It is apparent that this dish came from an esteemed manufacturer. Condition: But for some minor wear to gilding in two areas on the edge, it is in excellent condition.

This pair of porcelain plates was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. They measure 9 ¼ inches in diameter. The porcelain is molded with an ornate ruffled border. The center of each plate has a miniature landscape painting surrounded by a gilded cartouche. The border has scallops, frills, flowers and even a suggestion of coral. There are accents of gilding throughout. The plates are so representative of Victorian taste. They will display beautifully on a wall or in a breakfront. Condition: Excellent

These 4 porcelain ramekins with under plates were produced in France by Haviland & Co. Limoges around 1900. The under plates are 4 5/8 inches in diameter and the cups are 3 3/4 inches in diameter. Both pieces have scalloped edges with double gold trim. The cups are molded with ribs giving them a flower shape. Both pieces are decorated with a transfer design of trailing vines and delicate pastel colored flowers. The cups are decorated inside and out. They have the sweetness of spring in their subtle design. Condition: Excellent

These 8 porcelain plates were produced in Germany by Meissen in the 1890s. They measure 9 1/8 inches in diameter. They have a flat rim and are slightly indented in the middle. The plates are made of fine quality porcelain and are quite substantial in weight. The plates feature portraits of different animals in wonderful detail. The painting is so fine that you can see every whisker and strand of fur. The artist captured the true character as naturally as if they were photographed. There is a gilded accent and gold trim on the rims. It is really difficult to pick out a favorite. They are all so fantastic they look like they would come to life. Condition: Excellent first quality.

This set of 12 bird plates was produced in England by the Cauldon factory in the 1890s. The plates measure 8 3/4 inches in diameter. They are made of fine, white bone china. The edges of the plates are fluted and the porcelain has a molded swirl design that is accented with gilding. The centers of the plates are expertly hand painted by the renowned artist, James Birbeck, who specialized in painting game birds. They are painted in fine detail and vivid color and are named on the back of each plate. The manner in which Birbeck painted the landscapes and sky shows his fine artistic abilities. The birds are shown in their individual natural enviorment. Every plate has some wonderful story to tell. Condition: 11 of the plates are virtually unused and in excellent condition. 1 plate has minor use wear to the center. The gilding on all of the plates is intact. There is no crazing in the glaze on any of the plates.

This porcelain bowl was produced in the United States by the Pickard Studio between 1903 and 1905. It is signed Shoner for the artist Otto Shoner. The bowl measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter, handles not included. There are “wish-bone” handles on each side of this scalloped and blown out bowl. The blank originally came Tressemann and Vogt Limoges, France and was decorated at the Pickard Studio. The painting is in the art nouveau style. Brightly colored tulips spill across the porcelain. There is a wide gold border with hand painted accents. It is vibrant and exciting to see. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain flower pot with under plate was produced at the Meissen Factory in Germany between the 1890s and 1910. The under plate has a diameter of 7 1/2 inches and the pot measures 6 1/4 inches high and 7 1/4 inches in diameter. The porcelain is quite substantial and heavy. The pot is pierced in the bottom to let water drain. It is hand painted with vividly colored bunches of roses on both sides. There are little rose buds around the edge of the under plate. The rims are trimmed with gold. From my experience, this appears to be a rather uncommon object made by Meissen. They took a utilitarian object and created an elegant flower pot. Condition: Excellent. It was gently used.

This porcelain coffee cup and saucer was produced in Vienna in the 1880s. The beehive mark is under the glaze. The saucer has a diameter of 51/2 inches and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The ground color is a deep forest green. There is a reserve on the cup with a hand painted scene. It is artist signed “Horan” and the scene is entitled, “Amor am Pranger” or Love Contained. The goddess Diana has Cupid tied to a tree. The scene is framed in elaborate raised gilding. The gilding also surrounds the border of the saucer. A good portion of the interior of the cup is gilded in mirror finish gold. There is gilding on the handle and rims. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Franziska Hirsch Dresden decorating studio in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. It is a bit larger than a demitasse so I believe it was made for afternoon tea. The set is hand painted with vibrantly colored flowers. Little sprigs dot the interior of the cup. There is lacy gold trim on the rims and gilded accents on the handle. Condition: Excellent
