Dimensions; 17" x 11"; framed, 23" x 17". Excellent condition. Exhibited at the Stirling Fine Art Exhibition, and at the Smith Institute in Stirling, Scotland.

He exhibited at the Royal Academy, the British Institute, the Society of British Artists and the Grosvenor Gallery. The Provenance is the Frost and Reed Gallery in London. WILHELM von DIEZ 1839-1907; GERMAN Returning from Work in the Fields Oil on Panel Returning from Work in the Fields Signed Lower Right: Wilh Diez, Munich Although he studied at the Munich Art Academy, where he eventually became a prominent Professor, he is primarily self taught as an artist. As a teacher, he had a major influence on an international group of students, including William Merritt Chase and John Twachtman. Dimensions; 13.25" x 18"; framed; 18" x 23".

THOMAS CRESWICK R A; 1811-1869; BRITISH CROSSING THE STREAM; Oil on Canvas Thomas Creswick was a British landscape painter. Among his most favorite subjects were English and Welsh streams and British rural scenery. He exhibited in many art venues including the Royal Academy and the British Institute of Art. Although the painting is not signed, there is an old brass plaque on the frame which, along with the style, leads us to believe that it is likely a Creswick

Robert Brackman (Born Odessa, Russia 1898; Died Roank, CT 1980). “Still Life on White”. Oil on Canvas. Signed Lower Right and on Rear (with title). Dimensions; site 19.5"wide x 15.5"high, with gilt frame 27"wide x 22"high. Brackman studied at the National Academy of Design and was a long time teacher at the Art Students League of NY and elsewhere. His paintings are in many Museum Collections.

ROBERT BRACKMAN-1898-1980; AMERICAN STILL LIFE; Oil on Canvas Signed lower right: Brackman Robert Brackman was born in Russia in 1898 and came to America with family in 1908. He died in Noank, CT in 1980. Brackman was a painter and an educator. He studied at the National Academy of Art in NY under George Bellows and Robert Henri. He taught at several schools, including the Art Student’s League and The Brooklyn Museum School...
