Still bears a gallery label from the Louise Himelfarb Gallery in Water Mill, New York. Warren Brandt was born in Greensboro, NC. He lived and worked in New York. Large jar or vase by Kirk Mangus (American, 1952-2013) free form with slip and incised decoration in the form of two fishes (one large, one small, the large fish going after the small of course). Signed "Mangus" and inscribed "xox" bottom. Probably from the late eighties but could be earlier. Roughly 9" high and 8" across. Kirk Mangus is an internationally recognized American artist and ceramicist.

First edition, and a rare example of a work actually printed and signed by the artist (This first edition was later completed posthumously by Berkley Chappell.) The second is marked L.Jor84. The third is unmarked. Dr. Lawrence Jordan was an important American studio potter and educator.
