The porcelain has molded poppies and scrolled edges and handles. It is decorated with art nouveau chrysanthemums. Heavy gilding is profusely used on the rims and handles. Soft paste porcelain luncheon or salad plate, 8 3/8 inches (20.32 cm) diameter, with hand painted underglaze medium blue in the “Ronda” pattern. Though unmarked, the pattern, the color and the deep molded swirled ribs and basketweave border are distinctively Tournai. The underglaze blue “2” on the back is probably the mark of the painter.

The plate has 6 wells with salt compartment in the center. The decorations are a factory transfer that is hand colored. The ground color is pale green. An assortment of sea creatures and plant life are scattered around the surface of the plate. The colors are vivid and the shape is interesting. Condition: Excellent

Hand painted in dark underglaze blue with a serrated rim this large bowl is soft paste porcelain. The decoration of a Chinese arrangement of flowers and twining plants is typical of Tournai. Height 4.5 inches (11 cm) and 11 inches (28 cm) diameter. Late 18th century.

Condition: no chips, cracks or repairs. Some scratches to the interior of the bowl and small flaw in the body of the bowl.

This style of decoration was popular at the time and still looks excellent today.
