A rare comical stoneware lidded jar in the shape of a blowfish by Mark V. Marshall for Doulton Lambeth, circa 1885. This globular vessel stands on three fin feet and the lid has a fin shaped handle. The entire piece is glazed in rich green, white and brown tones. The underside bears an impressed "Doulton Lambeth" mark, signature, and other incised factory marks. In excellent condition, it measures 6.5 inches high and 5.25" diameter.

This Victorian Staffordshire gilt white seated spaniel was made circa 1860-1890. Black nose,whiskers and eye detailing, yellow eyes. Vent hole to the reverse, good creamy glaze.

A Sevres salad bowl with lobed and slightly ruffled edge in the “feuille de choux” pattern decorated with sprigs of flowers in the bowl and on the outside with the raised pattern outlined in blue and gilt. The interlaced “L”s enclose the letter “F” for the date 1758. The heart in overglaze blue is the painter’s mark, Antoine-Louis Fontelliau. The inside of the foot rim has the hole from firing. A wonderfully rendered pottery Staffordshire portrait bust of the philosopher John Locke. The name is incised on the back of this piece. Raised on a faux marble socle, the figure is effectively modelled and strongly colored. The condition is superb, with no chips, cracks, restoration, inpainting, or enamel loss. The whitish lines on his robe were intentionally done to highlight folds. The figure is 7 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/8 inches in diameter.

A nice Griffin, Smith & Hill majolica pitcher in the "Wild Rose" pattern. The bulbous sides are decorated with yellow wild rose blossoms and green foliage against a stippled ivory background. An extremely rare and charming pottery figure, with colored glaze decoration, of a hyena or jackal. Condition is superb, with no flaws or damage at all. 3 1/4" tall.

A 12 ¼ inch (31 cm) diameter blue and white delft charger made at Lambeth, London toward the end of the 18th century. The “Chinese garden” is well executed as is the border on the lip. A plate with the same decoration is at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Condition: chips around the edge and a few places on the lip where the glaze has flaked off.

This porcelain basket was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg in the late 19th century. It is marked with an under glaze cobalt blue crown and shield. The basket measures 9 1/4 inches across the handles, 6 1/2 inches wide and is 2 3/4 inches deep. It features entwined handles and delicate reticulation. The interior of the basket is beautifully hand painted with colorful flowers. All of the reticulation is outlined in gold inside and out. It is a sweet and fragile reminder of by-gone eras.

Ten creamware dinner plates, transfer printed in puce with a cottage, a farmboy and cattle within a lace border, the outer rim with hand painted vine leaves, also in puce (one vine wreath partly in orange). From Herculaneum in Liverpool c 1810, all with the impressed mark of the pottery as a straight line, in the style of Wedgwood, the name of the pottery also competing with Wedgwood’s Etruria. An exceptionally nice English porcelain cup and saucer decorated with pink luster. The body is molded in a net pattern with reserves that are highlighted in overglaze blue, green, yellow and iron red enamels. The center of the saucer is decorated with a strawberry motif that is repeated in the bottom of the cup. The cup is raised on a slight foot. The saucer has very deep and steeply sloped sides so the hot tea could be drunk directly from the saucer, as was the custom.
