Banded mochaware bowl in blue and brown. Very nicely formed, with a crisply shaped foot rim. The rim has one 1" hairline, and there is some discoloration to the interior (note that the discoloration visible near the rim is actually very thick bluish glaze, and not staining), but otherwise the bowl is in very good condition. 6-3/8" diam; 3-1/8" high.

This bisque porcelain figure was produced in the mid 19th century. It has the initials L&M impressed in the base. We do not know the country of origin but it most likely is Continental. It is 10 1/2 inches high and the base has a diameter of 4 inches. It is made of unfired bisque porcelain. The piece depicts a sweet faced child holding a basket of fruit in one hand. There is a feeling of calmness and purity emanating from this figure. Condition: Excellent

Alt Wien / Old Vienna dish or plate – originally a stand for a vase or small tureen – with sparse decoration of stylized little tulips within a dark red border. The modern-looking design is a deceiver: the shape of the Royal Vienna Porcelain factory underglaze blue shield mark on the base shows a production date in the Empire period around 1800. Diameter "9 ½ / 24 cm. Condition: two small spots of glaze wear to the center, from the foot rim of vase or tureen.

Two exquisitely enameled Höchst coffee cups, one with a rose and the other with a tulip. The porcelain manufacture of Höchst near Frankfurt am Main was founded in 1746, and the two coffee cups were made around 1765. Underglaze blue wheel mark to both, and brown rims. Height "2/ 5 cm, diameter "2 ¾ / 7.1-7.3 cm. Condition: fine.

 

A fine hand painted and gold trimmed Dresden factory painted porcelain lidded jam or marmalade pot by Donath & Co. c1900. This 5-1/2" tall serving piece features different floral scenes on each panel between the footed columns and on the lid; it is marked with DRESDEN with the crown mark for Donath & Co. (1893-1916), and it has a gold rose painted over the Thomas maker's name. It also has the retailer's stamp for Ryrie Bros. Ltd. of Toronto (who were bought out by Birks in the 1920s)...

A very early Bow porcelain coffee cup with the "Cross-Legged Chinaman" pattern. Adding to the rarity of this cup, in addition to its age, is the crabstock handle.

A Continental Cabinet Plate by Oscar Schlegelmilch factory in Langewiesen, Thuringia, Germany, circa 1890 (marked with a Royal Vienna style blue beehive mark) The plate decorated with a central image depicting Odysseus and Telemachos surrounded by gilt and additional color and gilt banding. A pair of very detailed molded porcelain figures of standing pigeons. The glaze is slightly blue/green. On close examination it is clear that though they were made from the same mold, the details of the lines in the feathers, breasts and the bases were done by hand. A slight tint of orange shows through thin spots in the glaze on the bases. They are an identical pair rather than an opposing pair. A group of four hand painted German porcelain cups and saucers by Helena Wolfsohn c1870s-80s. Each has fine floral decoration with garlands and gold trim and highlights, both inside and out. Each has a blue ground and all have the blue Wolfsohn backstamp (crowned D over Hand painted Dresden Saxony). One has "Handgemalt" instead of handpainted, and all have the gold rose overstamp. The cups stand 2" high and the saucers are 5-7/8" across, and each saucer also is stamped with a retailer stamp...

A Large Royal Worcester Vase with a Reticulated Neck, Pierced Design in the Handles and Gilt on Rim and Bottom. There is a Hand Painted Scene of Stratford Church on front, and a Hand Painted Floral Design on the Back. Registration No. 101230 for 1888 Pattern No.1279. The size is 12.25" high x 7" wide, with a 22" circumference. It weighs 2.3 lbs. Excellent condition.
