This exquisite antique 17th-century European Baroque Crucifix is a true masterpiece of art. The intricately crafted gilt-bronze Corpus Christi boasts finely chased details that lend a sense of realism to the piece. Authentic antique 18th - 19th century Russian brass and enamel 4-folded panel icon "The Twelve Principal Feast".

The left fold depicts The Annunciation, The Nativity, The Nativity of The Virgin, and the presentation of the Virgin to the Temple; on the top is The Crucifixion surrounded by St. Martha, Mother of God, Saints John, and Longin Centurion.

On the right fold are: The Presentation of Christ to the Temple, Baptism, Transfiguration, and Entrance to Jerusalem...

Russian wooden egg, lacquered in black and painted. One side with an orthodox cross and the other probably depicting St Basil’s cathedral in the Kremlin in the late 19th century. It might also show the then newly erected cathedral of the Assumption in Omsk. Height "4 / 10.5 cm. Condition: the painted decoration is flaking, as is the black lacquer (cf. pics).

DESCRIPTION: 800 silver plaque over wood icon depicts Madonna and child, the faces are enamled while the body features in a silver filigree overlay with both figures wearing elaborate garments and crowns.
