An early 19th century lacquered papier maché snuff box. Germany (Brunswick), Stockmann type, the inside of the lid with impressed maker’s mark M.A.A. On the lid a “portrait” of a lady generously décolleté, with a tiara and pearl necklace, an opulent and luxurious mock fiancé that many a gentleman of the period liked to show his friends when bringing out his snuff box. Diameter "3½/ 9 cm, height "¾ / 2 cm. Condition: small damage to the lady’s neck (cf. photos), otherwise fine.

Rare English Regency Hawksbill and Greenback Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy with ivory and pewter stringing, having cut corners and a bowed front panel with pressed tortoise in concentric ovals with fan corners and central inlaid silver oval with leafage border; the bowed lid surmounted by a ball finial and the whole raised on ball feet. A fine and rare Pennsylvania Dutch Amish folk art candle box carved from a single piece of yellow pine (no joining at all). The interior hollowed and the interior sides hand planed. One side with bas relief carved hex motifs. The other side with the initials, IF and IB (if read left to right, though not sure of the intended order), likely of a married couple and with other carved and incised adornment including hearts. Fitted, sliding top (the only exception to it being wholly one piece)...

#530 Antique Anglo-Indian Tea Chest, sandalwood overlaid with strips of elk horn. The box is rectangular with sloped sides. The elk horn on the top of the stepped, sloping lid arranged in a starburst pattern. The fitted interior is decorated with incised ivory panels, highlighted with lac, a similarly decorated pair of removable caddies and a circular cut crystal sugar bowl and a horn caddy spoon. (The squashed ball feet are later replacements. Lid lack support)...

A very rare and superb Octagon British Wooden TEA CADDY WITH TORTOISE SHELL AND MOTHER OF PEARL inlays, ca. 1800. The top knob for opening and the 4 small feet are made of bone. The tea caddy comes with the original key and the mechanism works well. Size: height 17 cm. including the knob and feet (15 cm without) x width 12 cm. Very good condition. A fine Collector's piece! A fine and rare CHINESE QING DYNASTY RARE MASSIVE FAMILLE ROSE VASE, circa 1800

A rare crusie lamp with hanger, dating from the 1st quarter of the 19th century or earlier. The bowls of these lamps were filled with fish oil or mutton fat with wicks of peeled rushes. Crusie lamps were the precursors to Betty lamps and were generally made of iron or tin. To find one made of brass, and with its original hanger, is extremely uncommon.

The condition of the lamp and hanger is quite good, with normal evidence of wear...

Connecticut Queen Anne era highboy, circa 1760s-70s. Cherry/pine. Size: 35 inches wide x 69 inches high x 19 inches deep. A New England 18th century 2-part flat top highboy. The upper chest has five drawers, including one with fan carving, above four graduated drawers; while the base displays a single long drawer over three drawers, with the central drawer front carved with a fan. The case is supported on delicate cabriole legs with pad feet...

18th Century Chippendale Pennsylvania Walnut Highboy with a Scrolled Skirt, Fluted Quarter Columns, Cabriole Legs and Ball and Claw Feet

This is a wonderful 18th Century Chippendale walnut highboy, and was likely hand-crafted in Pennsylvania in or near Philadelphia circa 1750 - 1780...

Circa 1780, Gates County, Eastern North Carolina Chippendale style walnut slant front desk. Comes with letter from MESDA. Measures 37ʺW × 27ʺD × 41ʺH. Please study photos. Desk is solid and sturdy. Inquire with any questions.

An exceptional ladder back Delaware Valleycahir with 4 slats, original red wash and splint seat, and well developed turnings.

The chair is in excellent original condition and structurally sound. As to be expected there are some losses to the splints. The height is 43", with a width of 20" and a depth of 18". The seat depth is 16" and 18 1/2" high.

An exquisite Queen Anne period elaborately carved side chair in excellent condition all original a fine example of early furniture making.

Rare Chester County Pennsylvania Spice Chest in walnut having a moulded cornice above a raised panel door opening to an arrangement of ten small drawers (one replaced) and raised on straight bracket feet. Secondary woods include: poplar, oak, walnut and beech. There is a faint inscription on one of the bottom drawers. Pennsylvania, circa 1760-80.
