An antique Japanese Cha Kobako (tea storage and serving box) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Upper open shelf for serving dish storage. Lift-out door behind which tea, teapot and teacups were stored for serving guests. Bottom drawer was used to store serving accoutrements. Lucky carved Pine motif representing longevity on either side of the chest.

Medallion representing Napoleon Bonaparte wearing the laurel wreath. The emperor is represented still young. This must be one of the earliest depictions of the emperor, arround 1800-1805. On the edge is inscribed in french "Napoleon the great Emperor and King", the medallion is mounted on a horn box. A fancy ornate brass oval frame having trefoil cartouches with leaves and edged with beading encircle the mirror held up by easel stand whose stretcher is detached from the frame. However the stand is still most functional. The frame is a very elegant reminder of a lost craft. Plume & Atwood manufactured this delightful glass oil lamp c. 1870 possibly a little later. It consists of a shaped white terraced base supporting a brass stem which in turn supports the amethyst font embossed with flowers and scrolling stems. The burner assembly is brass. The lamp comes with a hurricane chimney with crimped top. The wick, I discovered late, is in the font. The lamp proper is about 11". The condition appears to be excellent though the burner has some minor warping...

Octagon sided marble top table with an oriental style to the base. This is a simple but beautiful table, measuring 29" tall x 27" in diameter.
