An exeptional rosewood tea caddy with heavy cast brass handles and brass cast feet in casket form with shaped lid and lock. The edges are possibly yew wood. The interior is fitted with removable hinge lidded compartments with a round center for mixing bowl which is not included. Though tea caddy displays beautifully it has a couple of flows, the first of which is a gap in the lid toward the right as you face it...

Made of cardboard, the top decorated with a pearl embroidered flower and owner’s initials in wool, all surrounded by gilt paper ribbons, so-called Dresden trims. Germany, c 1830-40. This is a very nice all original very small paint decorated box. It is all original and including the lock and key but the lock I think been disabled. The boards are thick for such a small box and the nails are also oversized for the box. It is the kind of thing that makes you smile...

Medallion representing Napoleon Bonaparte wearing the laurel wreath. The emperor is represented still young. This must be one of the earliest depictions of the emperor, arround 1800-1805. On the edge is inscribed in french "Napoleon the great Emperor and King", the medallion is mounted on a horn box. The medallion is in bronze or gilded copper with a beautiful slightly greenish mercury gilding, it is framed by a strapping of pink metal which must be pink gold. Good condition, no restoration...

Antique American Federal Octagonal Tea Caddy, in mahogany the hinged top with satinwood stringing and banding opens to an interior well with a “floating” lid. Circa 1800.

A large lacquered papier maché table snuff box made in Braunschweig (Brunswick), Germany. The lid with a portrait of an old man, a prophet. Early 19th century, probably by Stockmann, unsigned. Diameter "4½/ 11 cm, height "1½/ 4 cm. Condition: a chip to the inner rim of the box, as seen on photo.

French hinged vinaigrette or snuff box made from carved coquille nut having a mask with inset red amber eyes and tongue, the cover with Napoleon astride a rearing horse. Measures 3 inches long. Circa 1815.

A very rare and superb Octagon British Wooden TEA CADDY WITH TORTOISE SHELL AND MOTHER OF PEARL inlays, ca. 1800. The top knob for opening and the 4 small feet are made of bone. The tea caddy comes with the original key and the mechanism works well. Size: height 17 cm. including the knob and feet (15 cm without) x width 12 cm. Very good condition. A fine Collector's piece! (This item cannot be exported to the U.S.A.)
