Unusual pair of black lacquer small traveling hinged boxes. Each box is the same size with three individually sized drawers located behind the hinged front door. All original hand forged iron hardware. Side handles swivel up allowing insert of a hardwood pole for ease of carrying them about.

An unusual and dramatic firescreen abattant. It reminds me of some of the smaller, New York classical parlor furniture I've seen in Southern house tours with late Federal drawing and music rooms furnished with pieces imported by successful merchants - almost, but not quite, over the top in their design yet direct in their function. So an argument could be made for high, New York city style. And the inlaid oval in the center, with pie crimped edge, is reminiscent of some New England work...

A finely made and carved Louis XV style side chair, 19th century. Upholstered with fragments from an 18th century hunt themed tapestry. A charming and atmospheric interior accent. The chair in good, serviceable condition with expected wear. The upholstery simply divine - showing it’s age with conservation preserving its decorative impact. Seat height, about 18 inches. Back height about 38 1/2 inches.

Made of keyaki Hardwood with Stunning original glowing finish, accented by round black iron handles with locking bar. Swedish Gustavian armchair circa 1850, painted milk paint finish,35 in.height,25 in. Depth Gustavian is a Swedish twist on French Neoclassicism. It has the same proportions as the French styles, but muted color palettes and different carved woods – birch, beech and pine, all native to the area. ... Often, the furniture was painted in pale colors to brighten up dark rooms during long Scandinavian Winters.

An antique Japanese Cha Kobako (tea storage and serving box) made of Kirinoki (Paulownia) wood. Upper open shelf for serving dish storage. Lift-out door behind which tea, teapot and teacups were stored for serving guests. Bottom drawer was used to store serving accoutrements. Lucky carved Pine motif representing longevity on either side of the chest.
