A Veracruz stone yoke circa 250-950 AD in characteristic U-form, the thick implement with polished surface except for the outside. A flat top, the sides tapering slightly downwards. The end of each arm is relief- carved with an ornate pattern of complementary bands and scrolling plumage-like motifs. Remains of a red pigment in a speckled grey-light green stone. Minor restoration. Length 15", width 14".On a presentation stand. Provenanace: Southwest College Auction, La Mesa, CA.

This early pre-classic olmecoid figure dates from approximately 1250 BCE to 800BCE it measures 5 1/2" by 4 1/2".Mineral deposits and root marks. The head has been reattached. The figure was in the collection of Robert Ruark, the highly acclaimed writer and acquired from Arte Primitivo.

A Mezcala stone figure from the pre-Classic period [1200 BC-200BC]. There are drilled holes at the base of the neck for wear as a pendant. 6.5" high.

Three Aztec pipes were sold at Sotheby's auction on March 23rd, 2013 for $12,890. None were as near as nice as this one or even the other three I have for sale here. This extremely rare Inca carved Llama bone blood cup depicts a battle scene. One figure is holding a copper tumi knife and the other is holding a knife. It is 3 1/4" tall and 1 5/8" wide. A Teotihuacan stone figure made of a spinach colored green stone. A typical rigid body with squared-off shoulders, straight arms draped to the hips with incisions to denote fingers and toes, a flattened head marked by deep crescent in-cut eyes and mouth. It is drilled at the nose and through the earrings and wears a rectangular peaked cap. Measures 8" in height and on a presentation stand. Provenance: Leonard Kaplan Collection, Laguna Beach, CA.

West Mexican Black Burnished stucco tall sided bowl, nice shape well made with a great feel . there are chips and repair. The bowl matches one of our listings of a pair of Pre Columbian statue arms each holding a similar bowl with an offering. Size 2.5" by 5.5"

Circa 1470-1532 AD pre-Columbian Inca ritual offering vessel Conopa in the shape of a Llama. Hand carved from a fine brown grained stone, then polished with sand and water, with a hole in its back called a "qocha" (lagoon) the container for offerings during the ceremony "haywarisqa" (ceremony of offerings). Llama fat and blood mixed with coca leaves were presented to the gods.

A rare and interesting depiction of a wild dog on a double vessel with a large mug decorated with a relief carving of human figures and with whistle function.

Size: 19,5 cm. wide and 13,5cm. tall, substantial in hand.

Condtition: Good Very fine, intact with a short closed micro-thin hairline at the rim.

A pair of nice Capuli Complex / Narino pottery bowls, Northern Ecuador and Southern Colombia, 8th.-15th. cent. AD.

A rare Sultepec mask, possessing a great nose. This piece dates from approximately 500BC to 200Bc it measures 5 1/2" by 4" wide the nose rises 3" from the back. there appears to be a small amount of repair to the nose. there is an old auction number as well as a small tag with DeRoche on it, although I haven't spoken with Dave it is possible it was once in his gallery in San Francisco.There is a small chip on the right side of the top. This is a great mask at a great price.
