Pre-Columbian Chimu Goldball Necklace. Circa 1000 A.D. – 1200 A.D. 28” total lenght. 76 grams total weight. Composed of high karat gold beads including fourteen large, lentoid-ball beads, each interspersed with a medium size gold bead and sixty-four small gold beads. Several of the large beads have dents and evidence of crushing and small holes along the central soldering seam. Modernly strung, suitable for wearing. Provenance: Ex. Jean-Eugene Lions Collection, Geneva.

A massive and important ceramic vessel, anthropomorhic design, Quimbaya / Calima Culture, Cauca valley, Columbia, ca. 600-1000 AD.

This exceptional massive redware vessel was found in the village of Virginia in the Cauca Valley. Anthropomorphic design depicting a male figure with a fat belly and hands holding something(?). His headdress or hat has a relatively small hole at the top (mouth of the vessel) where we imagine that straws for sucking up liquids was inserted...

Ceramic figure of a Peyote Shaman, 6" tall, 2,000 years old, from Jalisco, Mexico. He has a decapitated snake in his right hand, a death bubble between his lips, and a peyote-button bowl on his head. He has faced death and returned to serve his people. Peyote is a small psychedelic cactus used in life-altering ceremonies.

A Veracruz life size head from 600 AD-900 AD. This figure wears a cap with head ornamentation and ear spools. The pupils and mouth are blackened with bitumen. A flesh tone slip covers the head. It is mounted on a stand. In fine conditon althought there is a minor crack on the left cheek.

This is a Mayan Jade sitting cross-legged pregnant woman. Depictions of women are rare. Pregnant women are even rarer. She is wearing a coiled snake headdress. Snakes are a powerful symbol among the Maya. In their primal form, snakes represent the surge of life force that brings all things on earth into manifestation. It is 3" tall. Excellent patina. No damage. It was found in Guatemala and dates to 250-600AD. I purchased it in 1991 from dealer Michael Robbins.

Xochipala Jade Ear Ornaments. Mexico. Circa. 1200 - 1000 B.C. 1 7/8”L x 1 7/16” W. A matched pair of carved, thin, pale green jade plaques having incised carvings, each showing a crested bird’s head with open work mouth. Each perforated at the back of the head for suspension, one with a perforation above the birds eye. Both are intact, exc. cond. It was common practice in antiquity to recycle and re-carve broken jade objects...

Maya Jade Head, 1 7/8 " by 7/8" . CA. 500 A.D. to 900 A.D. On custom made steel display stand. The head is an ovoid shape, pierced with an ancient drilled hole for suspension. The piece was carved in the round. Beautiful deep dark green on over 3/4 of the head encompassing the left, frontal and partial right side, with a light green on the remaining 1/4 on the right side. Provenance: Ex. James Muriden collection.

This is an extraordinarily rare and unique carved bone Mayan plaque. This masterpiece is the finest I have ever seen and very few exist. It is 4 1/2" X 2 1/2" X 1/8". It is from the Aapo Bolon Estate which was collected by the family while living in Guatemala from 1920-1980. I inspected the entire collection of over 1000 pieces and found nothing incorrect in any item. This was the finest piece in the offering. It is from the Post Classic Period as it is made from Bovine bone...

This extremely rare and stunning museum quality Olmec standing figure is made from beautiful Olmec blue true jadeite. It measures a whopping 8 3/8" long and 2 1/2" at the shoulders. The head is just shy of 3". It dates from 1200-600BC. It is the definition of Olmec classic with the elongated head and were-jaquar mouth. It has incising along the chest, left leg and left cheek. The back is quite unusual and rare in that the head shows the figure in transformation into an avian form...
