Exquisite Pre-Columbian stirrup vessel depicting Two Jaguars, an adult and cub, 500 BC–500 AD, 8" H x 10.5 ; Vicus, Peru. This piece appears in "Pre-Columbian Art" by Alan Lapiner, in color on page 186. Its broad grin is reminiscent of the characters in Maurice Sendak's book "Where the Wild Things Are." It has been reassembled from approximately 5 pieces, with the cracks filled in.

I purchased this river-stained tally-marked four-directional/cross bone pendant from Tom Davis on 8-7-92. Tom had owned it for 10 years and he purchased it from the finder. The finder's name will be revealed to the buyer on purchase. I have the original receipt from Tom. It was found on the banks of the Tennessee River on the Tennessee/Mississippi border in Alcorn County, Mississippi. It is pictured with Tom in his bio in Who's Who, number 7, page 48. It is 3 3/4" long and 2 5/8" wide...

This is a fine example of the San Patrice, Hope Variety, early Archaic or transitional Paleo point dating to around 8000BC. It was found in Jasper County, Texas. It is made from translucent fossilized palmwood. It is fluted on both sides. It is 1/1/2" long and the base is ground. The edges are serrated. A seated figure of an emaciated male holding a tube above a small pot. The upper tip of the tube (or staff) is missing, an ancient loss. A minor chip to the end of the nose. Extensive deposits, as can be seen in the photos. The figure measures 9" in height. An expressive,authentic figure.
