Ancient Byzantine bronze pectoral Reliquary Cross ENCOLPION, circa 9th-12th century A.D. Composed of two separately-cast halves hinged at the base and pinned to a suspension loop above. Cast and chiseled in low relief with the Crucifixion on the obverse and the Virgin Orans on the reverse.

DIMENSIONS: Height: 5 cm x 2 cm (2 inches x 0.79 inches).

CONDITION: In its original condition showing the age and usage with a nice dark brown patina...

Roman Gold and Silver Glass Mosaic Palmetto Design Border, this mosaic fragment appears to have been mounted on a cement like material with an iron frame from the 19thc. There are a few examples from Herculaneum that match this example. This piece displays well . Size L 16" H 4"

A very attractive Byzantine or darkage bronze chest key approx 6th.-9th. century AD.

The key is very finely made with a hexagonal bow and decoration to the hollow stem.

Size: 65-66 mm. long.

Condition: Good very fine, very nice mottled green and red patina. A condition rarity as such.

A wonderful and intact inscribed stone slab or stele, Visigothic reign of the Iberian Peninsula (Portugal), c. 5th.-6th. century AD.

This white stone carving was possibly made for funerary purposes and represent the early style in Gothic stonework, where the inspiration from the Roman era was profound, but still combined with the wonderful Visigothic elements...

A high quality and very large Byzantine / darkage bronze key, ca. 6th.-9th. century AD.

The key is finely made with a square bow withy protuding finial and a two-section hollow stem.

Size: 107 mm. long.

Condition: Extremely fine, superb with dark green enamel patina. A condition rarity as such.

The scarce figural forpart of an early medieval bronze cross encolpion, Byzantine, c. 8th. cent. AD.

The cross decorated with Virgin Mary holding child Jesus, with portraits on each arm of the cross. Loop at the top, and thus wearable.

Size: 91 x 66 mm.

Condition: Nicely preserved obverse part of the Encolpion, smooth wear from use and nice dark green patina.

A fine decorated bronze beaker, late Roman or Byzantine, ca. 5th.-8th. century AD.

The beaker with a high foot and conical shape as typical for late Roman and early medieval types; it's decorated with concenthric lines in the upperpart and slots that looks like key-holes on the lower part.

Size: 4,5 cm.

Condition: Intact, with attractive green patina.
