A fine Roman bronze arm, bent at the elbow, with well-definewd fingers and fingernails. 2nd/3rd Century A.D. 5 3/4 inches from elbow to tip of fingers, 3 1/4 inches from above the elbow. From an old New Jersey collection.

Oversize axe of rhomboid shape with a short vertical and a broader horizontal blade. Roughened surface and a central perforation to insert a pole. The use of the item is unclear, also in view of the considerable weight of four kilogram. The type is described in the literature as axe hammer and also as double axe. Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this outstanding Greek kylix with original pigment and intact handles. This piece features a grapevine design around the perimiter with the highlight being the artisan signature on the bottom of the p;iece. 2 5/8" tall by 7 5/8" across the handles. This is a socketed iron spear from the ancient middle east. This was part of a lot including Bactrian and Luristan artifacts. I do not have an exact cultural attribution for this piece but it is similar to pieces from northern iran in the early part of the first millenium BC. It is 39 cm long and weighs 316 grams. It is intact with no evidence of repair.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this ancient Greek terracotta figure of a Boeotian maiden (possible Aphrodite) from the Classical Period. She stands on a rectangular plinth with her left hand on her stomach and her right hand resting on what is possibly the edge of a piece of furniture or the top of a large jug. She wears a garment that ancient Greek women at the height of the Classical period wore with a nicely styled beaded necklace and flowing hair...

This is a very nice bronze dagger or spear blade from the ancient near East - probably from Northern Iran circa 1200 BC or earlier. It has a thin, flat blade with a reinforced midrib. It has a perforation in the tang which is covered by the patina. It also has some slight bending in the blade which is why I have listed it for such a low price. It does not appear to be damaged or repaired in any other way. It measures roughly 23 cm in length and weighs 84 grams.

Attractive Greek Campanian red-figure squat lekythos with palmette. Late 4th century BC.

Condition: The jug intact, with minor ancient chip to the rim and encrustations. The decorations are finely preserved on this vessel. Small pinhole drilled in antiquity in the base rim.

Head of an antique Lady carved in high relief. Given the thickness, it is likely to be a fragment of a sarcophagus. It is a Roman or a Greek.The quality is fine, the carving is precise, the finish is neat and the marble has a beautiful patina, but I think it is a 19th century creation in the style of the antique. The fragment is mounted on a green marble cube. Total height: 28cm, the fragment alone 20cm. Some chips on the base otherwise good condition.

White ground lekythos decorated in black-figure with two quadrigae at full speed to right, one overlapping the other by about a horse's length.
The charioteers lean forward in their chariot boxes and hold goad and reins.
The artist creates a mix-up with the different teams – the leading horses appear on the foreground while their charioteer is hidden behind the following team.
