This beautiful green jasper Heart Scarab is 1/2" (13 mm) long and dates to ~900 BC. Inscribed Heart Scarabs were placed over a mummy’s heart to keep it from revealing any sin during its ‘Weighing of the Heart.’ Smaller, uninscribed Heart Scarabs, like this one, were introduced ~1000 BC. A very elaborately carved seal with a tall handle, carved in a cream stone, very glossy! The seal is carved with a depiction of a large bird attacking a smaller animal, perhaps a sheep. Highly unusual.

A beautiful high quality early Mesopotamian cylinder seal, Isin Larsa period, (c. 2025 BC – c. 1763 BC).

The haematite cylinder seal showing the introduction to God with a worshipper, a deity and the prince in Syrian clothing, in between a bull standing on it's hind legs. To be researched! Size: 20-21 mm. tall and 11 mm. wide.

A finely preserved small inscribed foundation cylinder, Neo-Babylonian Empire, c. 8th-6th. century BC.

The barrel shaped piece fully inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform. Untranslated but such cylinders usually has been attributed to Nebucadnezzar II, 604-562 B.C. They were stuck into buidings walls and is often long texts with praises to the builder and the gods, usually a king, just like foundation bricks.

The cylinder seal is carved in fine white-beige stone, and can be dated to Mesopotamia, Late Jemdet Nasr period, c. 3000-2900 BC. (Collon, period 1B).

The impressive seal is carved with 4 horned animals in very deep relief all the way around the thick cylinder.

Size: 30 mm. tall and 24 mm. wide.

Condition: Very fine, intact with some wear and corrosion and quite attractive.

Aweidah Gallery is pleased to offer this EXTREMELY RARE- ancient LARGE biblical black pottery oil lamp with four nozzles. A large filling-hole, whose rim is formed as a ledge with a ridge. The handle is a wide strip with two lengthwise grooves forming three raised mouldings, the nozzles are elongated with an almost straight end and finely scraped sides. Impressed circles and rows of other impressions ornament the nozzles.

Greek Apulian Lekanis, Lady of Fashion - Ca. 350 B.C., from the ancient Greek colony of Apulia, in southern Italy. Terracotta lidded pottery vessel with footed base, dome-shaped lid and knob handle. Lid painted in red-figure style with series of two Lady of Fashion in profile and two palmette panels. The Lekanis was used in antiquity to store soaps and scented perfumes.

Interesting and massive cylinder seal in a beige-white attractive stone, Mesopotamia, probably 2nd. millenium BC, provincial manifacture.

A rare depiction of a seated main deity or king at the table and a servant or lesser deity in front. A large fish is placed on the table and there's a three below and a crescent above.

Size: 38 mm. tall and 15 mm. wide.

Condition: Fair to fine, large chip below and small above, othervise wery sharp with nice high relief.
