Nice ancient Egyptian cartonnage fragments with column of hieroglyphic text.
These three cartonnage fragments have an interesting and old provenance. They come from the Commandeur Marius Cazeneuve (1839-1913, he was a French stage magician,
who became a close friend of the queen of Madagascar, Ranavalona III) collection;
he got a lot of antiquities from his friend, the noted Egyptologist and Director of the
Cairo Museum, Gaston Maspero...

A fine intact stone wig / separate hair, BACTRIA-MARGIANA COMPLEX, late 3RD- early 2ND mill B.C.
Separately made hair of green chlorite for a large composite stone figure. These have often lost their hair, since they were not tightly fixated and would have fallen off and cracked.
A very detailed and elaborate wig or hair carved with groves.

A massive bronze figurine from the medieval period, Islamic, Seljuq Empire, 10th.-11th. century AD.
The lion stands erect on 4 legs and incised details of the mane and head. A particularly charming specimen with finely made features of the head of the Lion, heavy body and seperate legs.
