Nice anepigraphic shabti, depicted mummiform with tripartite wig and false beard.
The small face shows nicely modeled features and rather large ears.
The hands are crossed over the chest and hold agricultural implements. The seedbag is slung over the left shoulder. The shabti has a back pillar and stands on an integral base.
The remnants of bone glue on the back point to an old mount...

A nice intact carved pendant in green-brown stone, with the stone aiming to imitate rolled papyrus.

The scroll is widest at the top, where there is a neck below the for suspension. The base tapers into a softened point.

Size: c. 29 mm.

Ancient Egyptian carved amulet in dark green stone with finely polished details, Late Period, 26th-30th Dynasty, 664-332 BC

Size: c. 16 mm. wide and 10 mm. tall.

Condition: Good VF, intact with patination.

Provenance: Formerly in the private collection of Eberhard Hanfstaengl (1886-1973). He was a famous German Art director and head of the Berlin National Gallery as well as other higher positions. Educated as Art Historian. Comes with COA.

This is a beautiful ancient bronze axe head from Norther Iran ca 1200 BC. It has very thick and flared blades. The socket has a raised ring or ridge around it and underneath both blades are three raised lines cast into the bronze. This is quite an unusual type acquired from a large private collection. It weighs 611 grams and measures 16 cm across. This piece is a must for any ancient weapon collection.

One of the largest tablet or brick seals, we've ever offered. Bifacial tablet seals can normally be dated to around the 3rd. millenium BC. This is so delicately carved that it could be made somewhat later in the 2nd. mill. BC.

The black serpentine seal depicts a large Bee, filling the whole of the seal, and on the other side a Scorpion. Particularly, the Bee is masterfully engraved, so that even tiny details and textures of the bee can be seen...

Bichrome painted linen cartonnage fragment from the coffin of a lady named Hebu.
The curved outer surface is decorated with three lines of hieroglyphic text reading: (1) … with the companion of his glorified state … (2) [Heb]u justified (f), with the air … (3) Hebu justified …
The female name Hebu is recorded with Ranke, 236, 16.
Square openings on the side to fit the piece with other parts of the coffin.

Relics of the Nile is pleased to present this interesting example of an ancient Greek bronze arrowhead. This arrowhead was manufactured by one of the Greek states ca. 600 - 200 B.C.
