Jewelry for the headdress of a Turkmen unmarried woman, made of silver and set with red glass cabochons. These domed finals were fixed on the girl's cap called "Tjubetejka", according to Schletzer decorated with a bird's feather meant the young woman was affianced. From an old Swiss collection. Cf. A beautiful pair of genuine arm cuff bracelets worn by the women of the Turkmen Tekke tribe. They are made of silver with gilding and set with carnelian cut with flat top. The central field composed of different parts of a silk ikat-dyed textile with amulet and boteh pattern. Bordered by bilious green silk panels and red cotton. Condition: discolored. Dimension: c. 210 cm x 120 cm.

A fine snuff tobacco container made of a dried, double gourd, decorated with gilt silver mounts and inset with carnelian and tiny blue and white cabochons. The ram horn-shapped stopper is attached to an elaborate silver chain. These tobacco containers were used by the Turkman tribes. Condition: fine, few traces of usage. A superb pair of oriental saddle bags known as a "heybe." Pieces such as this one would have been presented as part of a bride's dowry, meant to indicate the bride's skill as a weaver, a traditional role in the nomadic society where this was woven. The piece features an archaic design known as "elibelinde" and represents a stylized figure with arms akimbo. In outstanding, unrepaired condition with silk highlights. The piece is deeply dyed with strong, vivid colors...

Antique Persian hand-woven 100% wool runner carpet, originating from the large village of Malayer with natural dyes of rust red, indigo, light blue, rust brown, and beige hues. With repeating boteh medallions, four borders with scrolls and floral motifs.
