Miniature Buddhist stupa carved from rock cristal, comprising of a central stupa surrounded by four lateral smaller stupas, standing on a square base. The piece is made of twelve parts which were carved separately as shown on photos # 9 and 10. Gandhara Graeco-Buddhist art, 1st to 5th century. Height: 9.8 cm. A few stains due to a prolonged stay underground, slight abrasion, otherwise very good condition.

A pair of very small translucent pale blue-green glass earrings most likely for a child.. The glass is in the form of a medium-thick oval hoop that tapers at the ends. Important goblet of cylindrical form flaring towards its top, superbly decorated in relief all over its body with embossed court scenes showing a queen, half naked and sitting on a throne, being taken care of by several servants. A large Susani needlework composed of three length of mustard yellow cotton hand embroidered in polychrome silks. This kind of Susanis where used as bed sheet for the wedding night. The sides of the mehrab with flowering pomegranates ending in a large floral roundel. Trimmed with a woven band. Ikat and red cotton lining with „mir-i-boteh“ pattern. Condition: faded, especially the interior of the mehrab with splits, some stains, bottom half with partially consumed and worn embroidery...

A 19th century felt applique with the archaic designs characteristic of the art from this region. The colors are all natural and unfaded. The piece is exceptionally well drawn and in outstanding condition. It measures 22 inches. A genuine 19th century example.

A rare gilt bronze plate, with a fine embossed decoration representing, from the center to the rim, an archer, then a geometric circular frame, then six deities heads and six triangles, finally a rim. Bactrian Civilisation, ca. 4th century. Diameter: 21.5 cm. Obvious signs of use and age, otherwise good condition. Provenance: old French collection, acquired in Afghanistan in 1971 by its former owner.

An pair of scarce 2 tical bronze Toe beast Opium weights, Burma, c. 18th. cent.

One with a beautiful glossy excarvated enamel patina and the other finely preserved, featuring different tails and details as well as a square and a octagonal base. Both with verifications marks of 9-rays below the bases.

Conventional wisdom tells us that the octagonal base is the oldest, but we're not certain, both types might be significantly older than Gear and others state...

Rare gilt bronze gourd, of oval shape, with an embossed decor representing Bodhisattva Padmapani, standing, holding a vase in his left hand and a lotus on his right hand. Geometric design on the back and the sides. A nicely decorated stopper is attached to the gourd with a small chain.
