The coin contains a four character engraving possibly reading: Fu Shou Quan Shuang, or roughly translated as having both fortune and longevity. Beautifully hand carved jade pendant of the mystical fenghuang, or phoenix, with a blooming lotus beside it. The fenghuang symbolizes the union of yin and yang, and each part of its body represents a different word: its head is for virtue, wings are duty, back is propriety, abdomen for credibility, and chest for mercy. The stone is a creamy tone with pale russet flecking mainly seen on the back. A darker brown veining can be seen on the lower leg. It is carved overall, including the underneath showing one leg folded under. The polish is an even soft gloss like that produced from years of handling. Good condition, with no chips or restorations.
