The lid itself is decorated with an embossed feminine figure (a dancer) surmounted by a bat. The box is made of copper with a fine age patina. China, end of 19th century. Height: 5.6 cm. An antique Chinese tripod censer, also known as an incense burner Ding, dating back to the 17th -19th century Qing Dynasty. The censer is made of bronze and has a compressed, rounded shape, with a bulbous body and two upright loop handles. The base is raised on three tapering legs and is cast with a Xuande six-character mark.

This very well made 19th C. Chinese silver inlaid bronze incense burner is 2 7/8” high, 4 ½” wide (with handles is 7” wide). Its two handles are formed in the shape of beast heads. Two silver inlaid “Qi Lin” rising from ocean and surrounded by fire and clouds appear on either side of the piece. It has an unusual dragon mark on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.
