1900's Japanese Satsuma Box with Flower
It is 5.5 inches (14 cm) tall by 7.2 inches (18.3 cm) wide. It is 4.8 Lb.
It has been repaired at the flower finial (glued back) and has rubbing of gold and paint, skip glazes, chips at the leaves at the finial, hairline cracks, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A terracotta figure of the Three Wise Monkeys - Mizaru who is covering his eyes, Kikazaru who is covering his ears and Iwazaru who is covering his mouth. All three embody the proverb "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil". The figure is combed terracotta with blue, black and brown paint. This is really an exquisite piece of Japanese Satsuma. It is signed by Seikozan who was one of the finest satsuma artists. The pot is not overly large being 6 inches tall and 6 1/2 across including the spout/handle. The Condition is fabulous. This is a great piece of Satsuma especially at this price.
This amber Raku chawan was made in late Edo Period (1800-1868).
Raku pottery is traditionally used in Japanese tea ceremony since as early as the 16th century.

Antique Japanese vase decorated with scroll vine motifs around the mouth of the vase and animal like figures near the mid-section of the vase. Antique Japanese large onigawara roof tile end cap. This beautiful tile was made in the toukigawara method with a hollow interior. It once graced the roof of a large building, perhaps a temple or an important house. It has a raised Tomoe crest (mon) in the center which is surrounded by wonderfully three dimensional swirling clouds and topped with it's own roof. Meiji Period (1868-1912).
