This is a finely carved and lacquered wood Ojime in the form of a Daruma Toy or "Okiagari Koboshi", meaning the little priest that gets up. The center cord hole or himotoshi are lined with shakudo or copper and gold alloy. Signed Hoshin in the back of the Daruma. Ojime measures 0.63 inches (1.6cm) in diameter, and 0.80 inches (2.0cm) tall. It is in excellent condition as may be seen in the posted photos.

19th century Japanese silver and Satsuma obidome (sash ornament) with various blooming flowers with stems and leaves. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Excellent quality painting, numerous color and gold enamels, in excellent condition, metal fitting on the back for an obi cord. Back is stamped with a single character GIN (silver). Late Meiji - early Taisho ceramic netsuke of a chestnut. Bizen ware made in Okayama Prefecture - one of the Six Ancient Kilns of Japan, characteristic fine brown clay. Wonderfully realistic depiction of the object, nice wear and patina, in excellent condition. Height 1 1/16 inches.

19th century wooden kiseruzutsu - Japanese tobacco pipe holder carved in a shape of a stem Fungus of Immortality with 2 heads. Very nice carving, clever design, himotoshi is formed by natural opening between stems, pleasant wear and patina on the surface. Length 8 inches.
