Early Persian glazed pottery bowl; of wide footed form, the interior painted with colorful design of a bird with fruit, the exterior with band of linear patterning, probably Circa 12th century period. A large silver tray of oval form with applied scrolling handles. The sloping sides of the salver with repousse decoration in the Turkish baroque style. Tughra and two other marks to either end of the tray, each handle with two hallmarks. A round tray cover made of glazed cotton lavishly block-printed and dyed, produced in Isfahan in the 19th century. Safavid Dynasty. (1502–1736) Persian dynasty. It was founded by Isma'il I, who, by converting his people from Sunnite to Shi'ite Islam and adopting the trappings of Persian monarchy, planted the seeds of a unique national and religious identity.
