Enrique Ledesma was a Taxco Maestro who was known for putting stone next to silver. He created today's offering of silver bars with malachite in the centers. The necklace is thick and 16 5/8th in. long. There is a height of 5/8th in. tall. The weight shows off the quality at 80 grams heavy. This is perfect for career wear or jeans, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!
Large Thai bronze Buddha head with serene face and downcast almond eyes, curled headdress, flaming usnisa, and elongated ears. The casting is thin, the patina is very nice, and there is typical corrosion and wear evident. Traces of gilt are visible in the usnisa and hair (see close up images). Very dramatic deeply concave oval shaped African shield from Ethiopia. The animal hide is scraped free of hair and then placed over a shaped board with protrusions which will allow for greater protection in warding off blows. The edge is tightly rolled and there are added tool marks for heightened decoration. The handle is tied and knotted into place at a slight angle to allow for a more comfortable hold.
Shield is 21 inches at the widest point and about 6 inches deep...

Miguel Martinez was the principal designer for Rancho Alegre. This taller was known for quality and this is no exception. This Spratling design necklace is deeply carved with a large repousse silver ball at the drop measuring 2.5in x 2 7/8th's in. Wearable length is 16.75in. long. There is a glare on the underside of the repousse ball but is free of any dents or damage. The weight is a hefty 81.2 grams and the workmanship is outstanding.
