Japanese Antique Hina Doll with a face of Gosho ningyo (Imperial Palace doll), late Edo period. Very few servant dolls have survived from this period. Not only the flimsy nature of thin silk and the light coloring of their clothes, but a few dolls in this quality were made at the time (late 1700s to mid 1800s). The doll is 9 inches tall; a large servant doll, very good condition.

Description: A small QingBai ram was excavated with obvious incursions on pale blue glaze. Deposits and iron spots were spread all over the surface. Referent material( Chinese Ancient Porcelaneous Toys) was published in May 1995. Date: Song dynasty (12th century) Height: 6.6cm Length: 5.3cm Condition: Only one minor chip was at the tip of the ram's right ear.

A terrific c. 1960's Gucci silver plate and enamel belt in the original Gucci box. Great navy and baby blue striped enamel in excellent original condition. There are no chips, cracks or damage to the enamel. The 10 panels are hinged so the belt folds and fits into the box which is also in very good condition. These pieces have been well cared for. The belt measures 33" end to end and is 1 1/4" wide at the belt buckle and 1" wide at the striped panels...

A rare and extraordinary brass cuff with repousse stylized fish motif by Hubert Harmon. The fish have a large cabachon onyx eye and their scales are three dimensional. Hubert Harmon set up a small workshop in Taxco around 1940. His designs are whimsical and unique. All of his work is highly valued and it is almost impossible to find. This cuff measures 3" wide and is 6" around in the inside with a 1 1/2" opening so 7 1/2" total. It is in fine original condition and weighs 98 grams...

Kokeshi, wooden folk toy of NE Japan. Height: 13.5". This example is of "Tougatta-kei" tradition, generally made in Miyagi Prefecture. But, this particular artisan, Ouhara Masakichi, lived in the city of Noboribetsu in Hokkaido. Ouhara-san was born in 1907 and passed away on June 8th, 1982 (Showa 57.) It was made at Hanamaki Onsen (Hanamaki Hot Spring) by an unidentified artisan. The wood used is "keyaki" (Zelkova-Chinese Elm.) It is not dated, but was most likely made during the past 20 years. This particular tradition of kokeshi is unique in that there is no painting, as in all other traditional kokeshi of Tohoku (NE Japan.) The wood is left bare...
