Born in England in 1888, Morley settled in New York and was a sculptor, craftsperson and teacher. She was a member of the Allied Artists of America and exhibited at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She is listed in Falk, Who Was Who in American Art.

This antique Japanese tea caddy is called a "Cha-ire" and dates from the late Edo period. It was used for storing thick tea which is called "Koicha". The more common tea caddy form or "natsume" was used for powdered or thin tea. The chai-ire forms vary somewhat and were most typically made from clay.

Luigi Lucioni (Italian/American, 1900-1988), oil on artist board, 6 inches x 9 inches, dated 1943. This small landscape painting depicts the panoramic view from the summit of Mt. Equinox, in Manchester, VT, with hazy peaks overshadowed by foreboding skies and rain falling in the distance. It is signed and dated in the lower left. Excellent condition, with only a recent, professional cleaning and offered in an antique giltwood frame.

Large Chinese Qing dynasty porcelain wash basin decorated in underglaze blue with leafy vines and sweet pea flowers set against a white ground with a pale blue tint. The exterior holds three flying bats. There are small amounts of kiln grit adhering to the unglazed foot rim. The base is glazed. 13 3/8” diameter x about 4 1/2” high. 19th century. A doucai tea bowl decorated with six groups of geometric shapes on the outside of the bowl on a white ground. The interior is similarly decorated with a single grouping. The base with a six character under-glaze blue Yongzheng mark surrounded by double blue under-glaze blue circles.

Condition: Very good condition - no breaks or cracks. Some slight wear to the enamels

Here we have a signed, authentic Matl Salas MS-12 earrings with amethyst tear drop centers and turquoise of many hues encircling the amethyst. Properly hallmarked as shown. White wisteria (fuji in Japanese) drape from the gilded rim of this Kutani vase signed from the pre-eminent Kaburaki (Kaburagi) studio dating from the opening of the 20th century. The imagery is exquisitely performed with over-glaze enamels on a pastel gray ground. The vase is large at 13 inches (33.5 cm) tall, 8-1/2 inches (22 cm) diameter and is in excellent condition, with some wear to the gold rim.

The design of this kimono is done in Kyoto Yuzen dye (famous paste resist dyeing method) and Bokashi (gradual shading). It is a formal wear with 5 mon (family crest).
