Oil on wood panel, this portrait of a young man dressed in vest and coat measures 9 1/8" x 7" (sight size) and the frame is 11 3/4" x 10 1/8". Well painted, there is a crazed and bubbled varnish surface, with some crazing in the paint visible on the vest. Once owned by Andy Warhol this vintage 1950's sterling silver & chrysacolla bracelet was designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Felipe Martinez for Piedra Y Plata. The six panels of the design measure 1 inch wide X 6 1/2 wearable inches long. It weighs 89 grams and is in beautiful condition with minor surface wear. Fully hallmarked. This very bracelet was included in lot 2333 of the April 1988 Sotheby's sale of Warhol's American Indian Art collection...

Description: A nephrite Houtien jade carving was very well rendered as two monkeys. By a good-wished metaphor of Being High Ranking Officials Generations after Generations, the monkey mother was holding hands with baby monkey face to face. In a celadon tint, the jade piece was done by traditional craftsmanship. It is a very good example for Chinese jade carving for the characteristics of jade carving skills and jade material. Not very easy to find the specific design of modernist Taxco sterling silver and gemstone earrings by Enrique Ledesma features two generously-sized, color-change sapphires. Mimicking the behavior of alexandrites which change color under different light conditions, the gems are often referred to as “synthetic alexandrites” within the context of vintage Mexican silver jewelry. Yet they are in fact synthetic corundum and at best, they should be identified as “alexandrite simulants”...
