A set of five sencha steeped tea tea cups by the first Suwa Sozan decorated with three seasonal or auspidcious fruits and a poem by famed literatus Tomioka Tessai enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Each cup is 2-1/4 x 2 inches (5.7 x 5 cm) and is in fine condition.

The fabric of this Japanese kimono is made from the very finely spun bast fibers processed from the banana like tree common on Okinawa. The delicate kasuri pattern which was woven into the fabric is typical of garments from the region. Bashofu cloth of varying quality was used for many garments which were worn by all classes in Okinawa since the sixteenth century.

This unusual pair of Chinese dolls were made with wire bodies covered with fabric padding and then silk clothing. Their heads, lower arms and feet are made from some kind of composition material and then painted. Because of their wire construction, their arms, legs, and bodies etc can be carefully repositioned. The feet are wired together to provide a more stable base...it is a theory which frankly does not always work well.

Chinese Republic period baluster form porcelain vase decorated in famille rose enamels with three large bird and flower roundels spaced evenly around the shoulder. The roundels feature two birds, two ducks, and two quail set among bamboo and flowering plants. Description: A grand root wood table screen was in a great look. By a nice brownish patina, the standing screen was being tenoned to the gnarled wood base and resembled as a rocky mountain with alcove in it. Of course it would be an ideal shrine for you to put a Buddha figure in the alcove. And it will be an attractive display item in your room with full Zen spirits. It is in perfect condition. Base with four unglazed feet. Dating to the late Qing / early Republic period. Condition: gilding with little wear. Dimension: 8 cm long x 3.3 cm wide x 1.8 cm high.
Description: An elegant Ru-Yi was rarely made of iron. Casted in a beautiful shape and preserved very well. Dark russet paint were reserved sparsely on the surface which reflected with good old black patina.
