This vintage wearable work of art comprised of sterling silver, turquoise and amethyst was designed and signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Matilde Poulat in the 1950's before her passing in 1960. This Matl design is very well executed and signed ME-O2 after 1980. The turquoise has warmed with time and the birds are really quite lovely. No damage of any kind to this well cared for treasure. 96 grams is the weight and the wearable is 18 inches of comfort. The drop of the center is 3.25in. x 2.5in. This old Chinese toggle would have been used for ornamentation on the costumes of both Han and ethnic minority Chinese. The toggle would be sewn on a jacket or hooked onto a belt. Low grade silver was used extensively in China for jewelry and ornaments during the late 19th century.

This sweet little metal box used to contain some kind of candied fruit called "Gelypear". The ingredients listed are pears, apples & colored sugar. There is an adorable picture of a boy on the top & the sides are decorated with crests & griffins. In good condition with only minor areas of wear & a small spot of rust inside one corner. Nothing to detract from the charm of this little tin. Measures approx 6-1/2" x 4-1/4" x 2-1/4" deep.
