A catfish in bronze by Kome Jiichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating from the mid Showa era. The slippery creature is 30.5 cm (12 inches) long and in excellent condition, signed with an incised signature beneath. Kome Jiichi (1896-1985) He was born in Toyama prefecture, on of the traditional homes of bronze work in Japan. He graduated from Tokyo School of Fine Arts studied under Takamura Kouun. Sitting demurely, legs folded with her back to the viewer, an oil painting by Yoshii Kosaburo dated 1937 and encased in the original period wooden frame. Oil on canvas, the painting is 15 x 18 inches (38 x 46 cm), the frame 21 x 23-1/2 inches (53 x 60 cm) and is in fine condition. The frame has marks and wear typical of age. An Edo period image of plums blossoming on thick branches by Kitayama Kangan. Ink on paper in a patterned cloth mounting with beige piping in the Mincho style so popular int eh 19th century and featuring bone rollers. It is 21-1/2 x 78-1/2 inches (55 x 199 cm). Some minor loss to the piping at the top of the scroll, otherwise in surprisingly good condition.

This platinum and diamond eternity band from the 1920's is set with 26 great quality old-mine diamonds. The diamonds have G-H color, VVS2-VS1 clarity and the approximate total weight of 1.05 Ct. The size 7 band has engraved scroll designs on both sides.

Circa 1880’s, this extremely rare, Log Cabin Cigar Tobacco Box with its fabulous, all-original, color lithograph is in just wonderful condition given its 120++ years of age!

Missing is much of the green liner paper to the box interior as well as the lower portion of the exterior brass latch. Additionally, the cabin lid has detached from the base although all aspects of the brass hinges appear to remain intact...

Rare pair of sterling silver kinetic earrings by important New York Modernist Sam Kramer, circa 1950s. The earrings are constructed with a biomorphic shape with a raised bar from which another shape dangles freely. Each earring measures 1.25" long. Sam Kramer is considered the most significant Modernist jeweler in the U.S. He opened his studio/shop in 1939 in Greenwich Village. Kramer's jewelry was inspired by Surrealist art and a medium for his own kind of expression. This pin is recognizably his work - fluid and spontaneous with several planes and a garnet for a color accent. It measures 2 1/4" by 1 1/2", weighs 22 grams and is in fine original condition...
