The clasp is a simple folding snap clasp that holds firmly.
The design is very similar to the early works of both Spratling and Aguilar, and could have been crated by them or by a worker in their studios...

Generous in size and studded with channel and bezel set stones, this is a glorious Matilde Poulat cross whether you wear it as an expression of your spirituality or as a work of art. Matl's signature wirework and beading combined with the patina the pendant has developed over time make for a strong, eye-catching presence. The hand-wrought chain that it comes with is Mexican as well and of the same period (yet not a Matl piece) and I believe it complements it in the best possible way...

Both the octagonal shape and lacquer finish make this chaire very rare. It is also lovely...

I have a weakness for Mexican jewelry that combines silver with copper and brass - I find that the three metals together look fantastic as the warm patina of the copper and brass elements lends its glow to well-aged silver.
The "mixed metals" dangle earrings offered here bear the signature of Los Castillo and are an early creation, as indicated by the design number...
