Large Chinese Song / Yuan Dynasty Glazed Buddhist Jar
This large and impressive pottery jar was made around the 13th / 14th century, during the Song Dynasty (AD 960 - 1279) or the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Until recent years, this type of jar was almost unknown in the west with some people initially attributing them to the Liao Dynasty (same general period but in the north of China). These jars are now known to have originated from Yunnan province in the south-west of China...
Beautifully carved, this soapstone figure really captures the essence of the stately Polar Bear.
He stands 3 3/4" high, 8 1/4" wide, and is 4 3/4" deep, and weighs roughly 4 pounds and 4 ounces.
The soapstone is a mottled brown/green, with spots of black, rust, and tan, and has black inlaid eyes.
The simplified form is just elegant and lovely, and clearly demonstrates the talent of the carver.

Continental standing cow creamer fashioned of 800 standard silver, with a German origin. Circa late 19th/early 20th century. The cow exhibits a pair of forward curling horns, has its tail curled on the top of its back, and displays a full udder. There is a hinged cover on its back for filling, and the cream pours through its mouth. Excellent condition and with wonderful detailing to the cow's features. The cow stands firmly, but has a very slight wobble. No repairs...
Art Nouveau plique a jour translucent, shaded enamel & gilt silver sugar tongs. Unmarked, but Norwegian in origin. Circa 1890-1920. Size: 5 inches in length. These fabulous tongs are fashioned in gilded silver that is formed with dramatic scrolls filled with shaded translucent enamels colored in various shades of green, blue, yellow, amethyst, and orange. The cast grips are formed like Scandinavian biting beasts. Nice condition, with no missing enamel or repairs.

It is made from a relatively highly-fired grey pottery (having a distinct ring to it when tapped) that has been "cold painted" in various coloured pigments, exceptionally good traces of which still remain. This is a pair of 14Kt gold and pearl Victorian Etruscan revival earrings from the 1960-s. Each earring is centered by a 7 millimeter cultured half pearl. The back are ear wire and hook. The earrings measure 1” high and ½” wide.

A 1920’s 14Kt white gold filigree ring set with a 22X10 millimeter oval shell cameo depicting a bust of a woman. The lady has a necklace and the necklace is decorated by a single cut diamond. The ring is size 6 ½ and it can easily be sized.

Depending on the angle the stone is viewed and the light source, various colors from purple to blue are show in the 10 X 8 millimeter faceted synthetic Alexandrite stone.The ring is a size 6 1/4 and can easily be sized.
According to the British hallmarks this wonderfully crafted 9Kt gold sapphire and diamond cluster ring was made in Birmingham in 1975. A 6 X 4 millimeter oval faceted natural sapphire tops the 11 X 9 millimeter cluster and is encircled by ten brilliant cut diamonds. The total weight of all diamonds is 020Ct while the sapphire’s weight is 0.40Ct. The ring is a size 8 ¼ and it can easily be sized.
Rare Chinese Yuan Dynasty Burnished Black Pottery Meiping
We have recently been lucky enough to have acquired a collection of very rare examples of burnished black pottery items made during the Yuan Dynasty (AD 1279 - 1368). Such items are relatively unknown and very little has been published about them. They are found in the northern provinces, particularly Gansu province in the north-west.

Flowers, leaves and bows from the 1930's. Luscious square red rhinestones surround pale pink aurora borealis rhinestones. these are accompanied by sterling and enamel. Brooch is 3 1/2" by 3". Hinged clip earrings are 1" in diameter.
By the workshop of the renowned maker Ryubundo (signed Kinryu-do on the bronze lid), this iron tetsubin measures roughly 8 1/4" from tip of spout to other side, and the handle reaches just about 8 1/2" high. The exterior is decorated with a dragon that reaches around the entire pot, in and out of waves and cloudlike forms, the entire surface decorated with these traditional motifs and rock like textures...
