Beautiful, elegant sterling silver necklace by Jens Tage Hansen, a Modernist silversmith working in Copenhagen 1954 - 1964. It measures 15" end to end and is 1" wide. Weighing 66grams, it is in fine original condition and signed as shown. A very striking piece on the neck.

Heavy, thick-walled Orrefors Ariel vase with bands of repeating geometric shapes; circles, squares and triangles in dark, smokey (almost black) glass; complimented by the silvery airtraps; the whole cased in clear crystal glass. The color varies in intensity depending on lighting. Vase has solid band of color at rim. A halo of blue-green glass shows around portions of the vase and is visible in the photographs...

Orrefors Ariel vase designed by Ingeborg Lundin, rows of squares formed by silvery air traps on a black background, encased in a thick layer of crystal glass. The vase is marked ORREFORS/Ariel No 328 H/Ingeborg Lundin; and dates from 1960. The vase stands 4.5 inches (11.4 cm) Tall and is 5.5 inches (13.9 cm) in diameter. In excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs.

Among Gerardo Lopez's most collected clamper designs, I love to refer to this specific creation as his "flames" bracelet because of the way the repousse rises in vivacious twists and twirls. This is indeed an impressive piece - like most of Lopez's clampers are - but not overwhelmingly involved and a sheer pleasure to wear. Its patina is warm and its hinge is tight as if it has been treated very gently throughout its long life...

A signature design for Margot de Taxco, the koi silver and amethyst clamper bracelet is a must-have for the dedicated collector and the lover of things beautiful alike. Executed in dramatic repoussage that looks more like sculpting because of its depth and the thick silver sheet used to craft it, Margot's original is far above and beyond all contemporary emulations be they signed by a known maker or anonymous. I leave the rest to the descriptive power of photography...

Slick, minimalist and yet so eye-catching, a pair of Margot de Taxco silver and enamel earrings with distinctive trapezoidal dangles. Just note the way the silver polka dots jump out of the white enamel background! The earrings measure 1 3/8" long by just over 1" wide (at their widest) and weigh 18.4 grams (for the set). Fully hallmarked as shown with Margot's name as well as Eagle 16 and des. no 5586 and in excellent vintage condition.

Today I am offering this signed Antonio Pineda archer cuff being 2.5in. tall and weighing 125 grams heavy. The cuff is most certainly a statement piece and certain to be gazed upon. The hunting scene is Lascaux inspired. The archers are cut out of the top layer of silver with niello being on the underneath layer of silver giving a shadow box effect. I am also listing the matching necklace to this bracelet. Please look at all the pictures as it is shown with the cuff.

Based on Margot de Taxco's and the Los Castillo's "Koi Fish" parures, a repousse by-pass ring from the 1950s-60s made by one of Taxco's still unidentified maestros. I admire these miniature masterpieces - they mimic the clamper bracelets of their respective designs yet with the small size, pose a real challenge to the silversmith who has to reproduce amazing detail in such small proportions. The ring here is currently a comfortable size 7.75 but can be adjusted upwards...

A very interesting yet no less monumental bracelet by Enrique Ledesma in which the maestro combines modernist silver work with curved stone tubes left unpolished- a rather unusual choice for him. I am intrigued by the combination and think that the stones are actually malachite with veins of pyrite in them. Vividly colored, the bracelet has a stunning presence because of its magnificently architectural links and it feels divinely around the wrist...

In my opinion one of the most talented Taxco maestros, Felipe Martinez worked with Hubert Harmon for a brief period in the 1940s (see Hougart, Little Book of Mexican silver, p. 105) and created some of the most amazing jewelry in Taxco's heyday. And even though I am always impressed by the quality of the silver-work, it is mostly the lapidary work that elevates his "Piedra y Plata" creations to the level of sublime perfection...

A very stylish 1960-s period 14Kt white gold sapphire and diamond ring centered by a 9.2 X 6.7 millimeter 1.76Ct oval natural sapphire with excellent quality and great color. The center sapphire is flanked on either side by a brilliant cut diamond, which gives the ring an elegant tailored appearance. The approximate total weight of the two high quality diamonds is 0.45Ct.

Margot Van Voorhies was definitively the finest female designer from the Mexican Silver Renaissance. This repousse clamper is carved exquisitely and undulates with the reverse repousse. The fish is 4 inches tall and has a weight of 115 grams. Turn the fish around and the silver tapers to 1.25in. in the back for comfort. Due to the age of these clampers many suffer from metal fatigue and have lost their "snap". We have given this clamper a new spring so it is ready for another 50 years...

Beautiful sterling Mid-Century Modern design bracelet designed by Bent Gabrielsen for Georg Jensen Denmark. The matching necklace is featured on page 154 of Janet Drucker's book GEORG JENSEN A TRADITION OF SPLENDID SILVER. The bracelet measures 7 1/4" end to end and is 7/8" wide. Navajo Kenneth Begay has been called the "father of modern Navajo jewelry". From 1946-1964, he worked as a benchsmith at the White Hogan Shop in Scottsdale, Az. Classic 1960's large 14Kt yellow gold cultured pearl and diamond heart shaped charm / pendant / locket, decorated by 32 cultured pearls and a small diamond. The locket measures 1 7/16" in width and 1 19/16" in height.

This is an extraordinary sterling bird pin/pendant by Salvador Teran. It is a magnificent example of his fascination with overlapping planes. The front feathers stand out in front of an oxidized background and the tail feathers move freely and swing. This is a large piece measuring 3 3/8" long and 1 3/8" wide. It is in fine original condition, weighs 26 grams, and hallmarked and numbered as shown. It is a remarkable example of this artists' imagination and creativity.

LARGE Chambri / Aibom Pottery Jar - Papua New Guinea (Ex. 1970's Collection)

Perfectly carved obsidian teardrops with shimmering golden depths and high purity silver combine in this modernist Antonio Pineda set of dangle earrings. There is an innate elegance in the way the silver embraces the volcanic glass, like slender flames of a hot fire emanating from black coals. In the darkness, you only see the silver; in the light it is only the obsidian that catches the eye. Antonio at one of his best moments, I believe. Iittala "i-glass" or "bird beak" decanter in blue designed by Timo Sarpaneva. Engraved on the base "T. Sarpaneva 2500". The decanter measures 7 3/4 inches (19.7 cm) tall and has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches (9 cm). Condition is very good, with very minor light surface scuffs; no chips, cracks or repairs. Circa 1960

The 26 old-mine diamonds are bead-set in a 14Kt white gold 3 millimeter wide eternity band. The size of the band is 7 ¼ and the approximate total weight of all the diamonds is 0.85Ct.

Vintage assembled set of Antonio Pineda bracelets in a mod, minimalist design that features deeply carved semi-spheres out of each bangle's perimeter, with the empty areas oxidized to add drama to an otherwise simple form. A remarkable sterling and 5 row saw tooth bezel set turquoise bracelet by Carmello "Pat" Patania who was the brother of Frank Patania Sr. It measures 6 3/4" around in the inside plus a 1" opening and is 1 1/4" wide. It weighs 98 grams and is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the stones. The stones are actually a deeper blue and green than the camera captures. Signed as shown. This is a gorgeous bracelet.

You could not believe how fabulous this piece looks with a scoop neck black dress. You can adjust the 20 inches of chain to what ever length you wish and the chain is also huge and hand made giving it a distinct presence. The sections of the pectoral have a hammered raw look to the sterling. The weight is 161 grams. The drop is an overall 5in. from center and the 3 sections are not that heavy so it is really comfortable. The smallest one is 4.5 x1.75, next is 5 x 1.75in. and the largest is 5.25 ...
